Now many car enthusiasts out there see ricers as an insult to car enthusiasts all around the world. I myself am a huge ricer but does that make me any less of a car enthusiast then the next guy? Personally I think that the term ricer is offensive and serves no purpose other then to shove all kinds of people in one general category. Like how all blacks are criminals or all people who dress like gangsters have criminal records.

Just because I like cars like that or this...

ok that is a bit much but u get the point....
That makes me different from any other car lover?
What do you guys think?
(first forum topic don't bitch about it. Don't like it get a mod and leave me alone)

While I prefer domestics, I'll agree about "Ricer" being a deragatory term. I've heard many of the guys I run with at drifting events(they drive imports) use "Ricer" in reference to posers. They're also called "Hard parkers"!

ricer is used too commonly nowadays. People should know the difference between tuner and rice. A big spoiler doesn't necessarily mean rice, it has to be big to be functional. However, giant wooden skyscrapers hanging off the back of redneck cars. I think ricers are a fun to laugh at though.

I don't really like "ricer" cars. But hey, everyone has different opinions and likes...so i guess it doesn't really matter. "Ricer" or not.

when i hear the term rice/ricer, two things pop in to mu head, some pos car that has neaon light with dubs and NO eng work done besides a intake and/or exhaust . or a honda that sounds like shit and bitches when they lose.... that's how i see it

I can relate to not liking the term ricer. The word use has little class and does tend to put huge spectrum into one generalization.

Personally the cars pictured above are not my thing but I'm not going to tell anyone how they should build or interact with their car. If that is what they like, whatever it may be, I am not going to knock them down even if I find it distasteful.

the thing is, people call people ricers by their own judgement,i even do this, the only reason i don't like it is because i get called a ricer at school just because i like japanese imports.(i own no car) that is how different people's views are. it all depends the person i guess

gunguru, if the avatar is ur car, i wouldnt consider you a ricer, although the body panels are a bit thick, and the rims are a bit too deep.

lol ya its mine but my cousin had it first and did a lot of the visuals on it. He didn't even touch the engine. I did most of the performance mods with my uncle.

yes, you people (ricers) dont seem to enjoy the curves of the oem, instead you got to 'rice' it out and copy the japanese style. This is why im glad the newer car manuals like the GTR have the "please no ricey modifications" warning.

But that won't stop companies and consumers from tinkering with the car.
