I personally am tired of the immature, rushed, and "perfect" romances found in shoujo manga and anime. I think josei is far more real. Smart and savvy women for leads rather than whiny teen girls. Realistic predicaments like falling ill or not having time for each other rather than incredibly outlandish situations like 5 guys liking the main character inexplicably. What do you think?

Shoujo may be silly, but I still kinda like some of it...XD But josei definitely appeals to me more. I LOVE 'It's Not Like That, Darling' -- it's a must read for josei fans. The only problem is that there aren't many josei manga out there, though. Not as many as shoujo. I've also never seen a josei anime either- care to reccomend any?

I'm all for the smart and savvy women...=) We women want to be recognized as such.

There is some half-decent shoujo out there. You just have to dig a lot.
You're right about there not being enough josei manga. We mature women deserve some love too!

Mhhhh actually I would say I prefer both shoujo and josei. I don´t want to say that I don´t like shoujo because I also read some good shoujo mangas that I really like. I would say it depends on my mood if I want to read sth that is mhh I don´t know how to say it I would say a manga that is more serious I definitely prefer josei (though I don´t know many of this manga) and when I want to laugh I read Shoujo.

I do like Shoujo, but it always leaves a part of me wanting more. It lacks when you're a bit older.
When I heard of Josei I was really excited about it and now that I've started reading Josei manga I love it! But I do wish there was more available.
