yep. but this time its actually made at the same level as the previous episodes and kinda gives continuity to the storyline, introducing or even expanding on whats to come for the future.
If you even havent read the manga, you probably wont notice the difference. Thats my opinion atleast.
Apart from it, and speaking generally it was a slow episode, but since its the first of a new arc, you couldnt expect much more other than introducing the new villainess, and setting up the plot for the next episodes. 18 minutes will only get you so far.
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Guren, actually sounds, looks and acts cool for a villain. Other thing that caught my eye is the difference between the relationships of master and students, from Jiraya-Naruto and Oro-Sasuke. It was nice on the part of the writers to have a long sequence of Narutos training, pretty much laid back and humorous, even if a bit.... ahm...weird...and then a scene between Oro and Sasuke, exchanging threats.

I've actually been watching this filler; and have been thoroughly amused by it. Being current with the manga--and knowing what happens in this arc (a little too well, it always brings a bad taste to my mouth), I'm interested to see the changes.
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Maybe Orochimaru will actually get a fight, instead of that insulting rubbish that his "fight" with Sasuke was in the manga. One can only hope.
Also, Guren is awesome. |

I was expecting a bit more excitement and action, from this one. The scene with Sasuke could have been alot better, and minus the flashbacks.

I kinda doubt they'll stray the plot of the anime from the manga, it happens the other way around though with fillers (AFAIK, fillers dont affect the plot of the story)
