here's some translation from the co-producer of Maou abt the two superb actors

To Oh-chan:
It's your first drama & first lead-role. Thank you for all your hard work.
I can't imagine anyone else being Maou.
No one else can be Naruse Ryo other than Ohno Satoshi. Thank you for your superb acting.
Tearing away the veil of a genius & being able to let everyone see what you are, we are proud of you.
And when you said "I am glad that Maou is my first drama",
Takahashi producer was really happy.
With Asia Tour & regular variety shows, I think your busy days will still continue,
but now without filming, you can use the filming time to go fishing as much as you want.

To Toma:
You really ran a lot this summer.
It was a really difficult role. Only Ikuta Toma can be Seriazawa Naoto.
Toma's acting have made the script better, I have seen this many times.
To be able to meet Toma, we feel very fortunate.
You were totally in your role and when I see that,
I could tell you really love acting & that it's very important to you.
Even after filming, you can't rest as you still have your stage play.
Actor Ikuta Toma will continue to go far. I am looking forward to your acting.

OH YES THIS IS IT!! The words I want to say for Toma-san and Ohno-san 100% here written. I really respect them more! *bows before them*

And he added

And...

To everyone who loved Maou:

Maou is the crystallization of the cast & staff's soul.
I really thank you all for supporting us.
I was encouraged by the messages left on the message board on the website.
And somehow, we were called "Team Maou"
We are very happy.
I am proud to be part of Team Maou.

I hope that Ryo & Naoto will be remembered by everyone.
Team Maou will be disbanded...

Representing the cast & staff,
thank you for watching till the very end.

Assistant/ associate producer, Watanabe Ryosuke

The one will thank is us. How can I forget Ryo & Naoto how that's impossible. I really want to thank TEAM MAOU! I really thx you! I cant find words I'm about to cry again God..........

I wrote in an previous entry,
after shooting that scene, both of them sat side by side while eating dinner,
when I saw that image of Ryo & Naoto, I was very touched.

Then, crank-up. (I don't know how to translate this in English but basically it means filming is finished^^)
Toma-kun, who finished filming earlier, came specially for Ohno's crank up.
The moment when they both of them hugged & praised each other,
I felt tears welling up in my eyes again.

Right after the broadcast of the last episode,
Toma-kun received a call from Oh-chan.
And he said this "I am really glad that I did this drama with Toma."
Toma felt the same too & he was very touched.

Oh I'm crying now...

You know... I'm crying too.... *snif*

I'm really glad they feel like that to each other, I hope they would play another drama together!!

I can't be more agree, Naoto and Ryo can't be played by actors other than Toma and Ohno!!!!
And Maou is the BEST drama!!!!

I beg you guys.. please vote for Maou
right now our ichiban drama still number two, Code Blue is still winning!!!

Haha aw that's so nice. ^^
Nobody else could've done a better job than those two, imo... they were both suited to those roles so well. Whoever did the casting is one amazing person.

totally. although, toma is so much more experience. but you can really see that he's really into his character.
i'd applaud ohno too because although it's his first leading role, you can't really tell it's first. his acting was superb as well.

they're both damn good ne! ^.^

Yeah it was a completely different character to his usual dorky characters, even tho Takemoto is shy and Nakatsu is loud they were both dorky. xD So he just proved his diversity as an actor, as Naoto would be a hard character toplay.

And Ohno has the role of a very hard character, I can't get over the fact that that's his first role... he does an amazing job at one of the hardest characters you could possibly portray

IKUTA TOMA - WHAT A SUPRISING CHARACTHER!! I MEAN. HIS ROLES BEFORE ARE VERY DIFFERENT FROM HIS ROLE IN MAOU. LIKE IN HANA KIMI TOMA IS REALLY FUNNY. I'M ALWAYS LAUGHING WHEN WATCHING HIM IN THAT DRAMA. THEN, IN HONEY CLOVER. HIS ROLE IS SUCH A PATHETIC ONE. BUT THEN, IN MAOU ..... UH, MYGOOOOD. CAN'T BELIEVE I'M CRYING WHEN IM WATCHING HIM.

i won't vote because i don't want to choose... both of them really surprised me and really i admire them a lot!

actually, before the series, I really cannot imagine Nakatsu and Riida being 'humor-less' since I've always watched them going all dorky yet funny and cute all at the same time....

But this, this drama made me realize how versatile they are... up to now, I still can't imagine that the character Nakatsu and Naoto were played by the same actor... and still can't get over the fact that Ohno - that funny Arashi guy was able to give life to that vengeful lawyer....

Amazing! Amazing!

gosh...
you have to give onho a credit in this drama...
he acts so sinisterly that i was scared to like him any more...XD
the way he stares and the way he changes his personality in split second...
no one can do better than him i guess
GO RIIDA!!!

I didn't vote cuz I'd probably be biased...but both really lived up to the role.

Ohno scared me, which accomplishes something. His role was yes more complex, he had to show emotion through body language or his eyes. Whereas Naoto wore his on his face. (I really liked how his eyes were different as Ryo and as Tomo when he went to confront Naoto's dad back then) I appreciate that is what make's Ohno's role more difficult. He had to be subtle, but still let it shine through. I am not too famililar w/Ohno's acting so that's about all I can comment about.

But, on the other hand, I feel Naoto is totally different from what Toma has taken on before...I seriously didn't expect this level from him in a Renzoku. I mean...Nakatsu was a comic relief (of which Toma did really well)...and his Honey & Clover character was a baka-naive-college kid. The thing I really appreciated about Toma's acting is that he really makes the audience feel what he feels (same w/his Nakatsu performance...a lot of people actually liked him and rooted for him). I think what made Naoto hard to act was having to express all these different emotions simultaneously. Guilt and anger and sadness, all at once. His tears were also very believable, which impressed me. (So were Ohno's btw. I appreciate boys that can cry beautifully)

So I say, have Toma take an award, and Ohno take another one. That'd be the fair way to do it. They both deserve it.

i really liked ohno's acting, sometimes toma's acting seem too.. overrated and exaggerated for me D: but they both did a good job in the end
