The black sphere (and presumably the man inside it) is called Gantz, so technically, it could work. Considering how I've never quite kept to date with the series for a while, I'm not quite sure myself, but there's apparently a reason why Gantz revives the people who died and force them into the 'game' and it's not something quite morally right. Just saying. On the other hand, I'll have to agree with you that Izaya would be one of the more evil characters in anime. My most memorable villain in any series is Griffith from Berserk, who used to be the best friend and admired person of the protagonist, who later came to betray his best friend and sacrificing him to reincarnate as a new being. Possibly one of the biggest and most tragic backstab ever.

Click to show or hide Griffith because he ends up sacrificing all of his comrades (The Band of the Hawk) to demons so he can be "resurrected" and become one of the God Hand. He then rapes Casca in front of Guts for his own amusement and to see Guts in despair
