The cover in Twilight symbolizes the forbidden fruit in the Bible. They used that as a representative of Bella and Edward's 'forbidden' love.

I don't know why they chose the flower in New Moon, but Stephenie Meyer had no say in it.

The ribbon symbolizes Bella. The little tiny piece of string that holds together the ribbon is Bella, holding on to her human life.

Then the chess pieces in Breaking Dawn, also symbolizes Bella. One is weaker than the other. It is where the Queen trumps all, where the stronger prevails.

I read about the first three in wikipedia. The info about the fourth one is from an interview that Ms. Stephenie did. I was kinda drowsy when she explained the book cover for BD, so what I wrote down is probably what my mind caught from the interview...teehee...

Hope that cleared some stuff up...>_<

yeh ............

Twilight Cover ..... represents the forbidden fruit from the book of Genesis. It symbolizes Bella's and Edward's love, which is forbidden, similar to the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil

New Moon ..... The flower on the cover of New Moon is a red and white Parrot tulip. Stephenie Meyer has stated that the flower has no significance to the story, as she had no part in choosing its design.

Eclipse ..... The broken ribbon represents choice, as in the book Bella must choose between her love for Edward Cullen, her vampire boyfriend, and her friendship/love with Jacob Black. Meyer also stated that the ribbon represents the idea that Bella can't break away completely from her human life.

Breaking Dawn ...... The cover is a metaphor for Bella's progression throughout the entire saga: she began as the physically weakest player on the board, the pawn, but ended up the strongest, the queen.

pretty much what you said .............

Teehee... Thanks!...>_<

Aren't they smart in picking the representatives of the covers? I love the whole 'forbidden fruit' thing... That was a GREAT idea.

Yeah...Well, I guess, it's like a blooming love from Jacob, but he knows that he can't have her. That's probably where the red comes in...It could be Edward, or it's Bella who is 'eating' or 'covering' the flower... hmmm... I just came up with this explanation while typing...teehee... Ang galing ko no??!
