I didn't want to spend over an hour of my life watching propaganda for the animal rights movement. I might watch it some day when i have nothing to do (i have it bookmarked) but for the most part... it seems like majorly biased propaganda for a left wing movement.
like i said i will watch it, and when i do, i'll edit this post, but don't hold your breath.

Excuse me, but you're the one who sounds biased. You say you haven't watched it, "but for the most part it seems like majorly biased propaganda for a left wing movement."? So where did that information come from? the other people's posts? So animal rights protection is exclusively a left wing hobby? Well, that's a compliment for left wingers and doesn't make the "other wing" look too good. Btw, if you don't want to waste an hour and a half of your life, then don't watch it. But in that case you shouldn't make assumptions as well.

Edit: I think this sounds bitchier, than I meant it. I just don't get the point of your post ;-)

I wacthed the first ten or so minutes of it, and the style of film made me think of all the other left wing activist movements... I didn't mean to sound like i was compeltely against it, i just had things to do today, so i couldn't sit down and watch it... i've got it bookmarked, i really will watch it, when i get the time.
I'm sure you didn't mean it to sounds bitchy, and we've talked in other forums, so it's cool, i understand your meaning.
There are some forms of animal rights that i think should be kept, i'm a middle of the road kind of person when it comes to issues i really don't care too much about.
I mean animal testing for various products should be halted. I don't think that's right... but at the same time, is there any humans that are volunteering for the job? Humans are the top, we have the highest intellect, we have the most capability for food, why can't we do whatever the ehll we want to the damned animals?
They are lesser beings.
Maybe someday someone will be abel to truely understand what the squirrels are saying when they chit at me and throw acrons at me.. Untill then, i assume they are saying somethign to the effect of get outta our tree area!
Am i going to shoot the little squirrel for the heck of it or because he's bothering me? NA... live and let live... unless it's threatening my life, it'll be fine.
Animals in test labs... within perameters it should be allowed.
I used to work in a vets office and pet owners have done MUCH worse than research labs.
Abuse in my opinion should not be tolerated ANYWhere... so does that apply to animals? sure, why not.

Edit: and btw most right wingers are hunters.

OH EM GEEZ, I understand that you can't stand those action toward animals, but you do know it's the survival of the fittest right? Therefore, if we don't eat them, they will overpopulate and basically take over the world!! (half serious)

One common pro-eating animal response on here (and elsewhere) is that its just what nature intended.
Logain has responded to that with the standard response as well, and I'll repeat in diffrent words. Simply: Do you want to base your moral code on the natural order? Perhaps there is another creature out there above us in the food chain. Hell, i think most people are going to come up with reasons for them not to eat us at this point, not just an oh well they are above us. Under what grounds should we be spared though? There is suffering for one. There is the fact that we have a certain level of intelligence. Any more?

Yes plants are living things. Heck, there are even some that hold that they are sentient beings of a sort. http://www.amazon.com/Secret-Life-Plants-Peter-Tompkins/dp/0060915870

I still eat meat due to practicality. Heck I'm 20 and ill eat whats put before me. There are problems I have with the practice sure, and it goes beyond just thinking about the animals. Effects on the environment, eating meat is an inherently poor energy transfer process, etc.

^wow very interesting stuff with the plants reacting to the threats. I especially liked the part about the plants going into a "faint" when the other researcher stepped into the room, the one that destroys plants... LOL
Great link Eros...

I don't like vegetarians. They're dumb. Just because plants don't have a human's nervous system doesn't mean they can't feel. They can't talk, so we can't really measure their pain. You eat living things all the time when you eat plants.

On the whole pollution thing, you're contributing to it just by being online. Unless you're living in a twig tent made only of stuff found on the ground, and you're walking everywhere you go, and are never using electricity or any modern conveniences, you're contributing to pollution. Even if you cooked all your meals on open flame, you're STILL contributing to pollution. All the smoke from burning brush has to go somewhere, yanno.

Please don't think we're all going to "be like you" because of some video. I eat meat, and I like my modern conveniences too much to give them up. I think it's awful what humans can do to the planet, but there's nothing anyone can do about it because you will never convince anyone to give up all their horrible ways.

Animals eat other animals , that's the way it's always been, and always will be. It's true it is natures way and I'd never be a vegan or vegetarian. But my only problem is how shallow and pathetic some of you are. Not to even consider something out side yourself and say uneducated things like "THAT VIDEO SUCKED BALLS." I think this sums up society.
