Discuss Episode 11 and Maou Ending here

that episode was insane. death after death after death.
i was expecting something different. i was so sad when kasai died. he could finally be free to live truthfully and peacefully with mari and then, boom. he loses his life. and also, ryo's letter to shiori shook me up before the final confrontation between naruse and serizawa. ahh~ i haven't seen the korean version so it came to a slight shock to me that they both died. i didn't think a show would make me cry, but damn.

lol, maou fanatics! my brothers and i watch maou together. and they were really on naruse's side the entire time. this show really tests your meaning of justice, doesn't it?

I was also so sad about Kasai. Because he was just going to propose to Mari. But I think it shocked me the most because it was so... sudden... like... I was expecting Eisaku to die from the previews but he was just walking along and just gets stabbed, it wasn't like he was confronted with a knife he was just stabbed so suddenly (also I wasn't thinking they were gonna kill another person, I thought Kasai might die but I thought they would've done it before if they were)

Yeah I was explaining the story to my brother and he was like, "So which is the good one?" and I'm like, "You don't know that :lol:" and he was like, "Why are they crying?" and I'm like, "They're sad" (I couldn't understand much because the audio was so fuzzy, I had to remember the ending to Mawang) and he's like, "Why are they crying when they're not friends?" and he was like, "WHO GOT SHOT?" he wanted to know I was so surprised he got interested in the last scene... xD And I agree, it really does test what you think of justice, that's a great point.

I can't help but laugh when Naruse gets stabbed. I mean it's not funny at all but when before it stabs into him Yamano makes this really funny noise. (I hope others noticed it too xD

exactly. he got pushed once and then stabbed and i was like, what the heck? D: i thought kasai would've died earlier. and it's amazing how they killed off everyone last minute. when naruse was stabbed i was so upset. 8/ stupid yamano. he was the one who brought the knife first eleven years ago. he's my least favorite character in the entire show.

ROFL. my brother was the same way. "why are they crying? who got shot? omg, i hope it wasn't the detective!" but it really was a good scene. and when they were sitting next to each other, gosh. this is definitely one of my favorites now. thank god nino and ryo's drama's coming up soon. i need more suspense dramas and less love triangle romance stuff. :o

Well, before Maou ended I tried my best to convince myself that the Japanese version was going to be different than Mawang, and it was in that there were 5 FREAKING DEATHS!!! Holy crap, did you guys notice that ALMOST all of the men in Maou died, leaving all the women behind??? Here's my opinion on each death:

1) Eisaku Serizawa = expected his death, so no surprise there
2) Kasai = sad that he was about to purpose to Mari before getting stabbed, shocked that he was killed so late (but, since he was one of the witnesses 11 years ago, his death was also expected)
3) Noriyoshi Serizawa = kind of surprised...apparently, he's not a fan of prison life :P
4) Naoto Serizawa = very surprised that he was killed by his own gun...honestly, I was expecting Ryo to stab him like how Naoto stabbed Ryo's brother 11 years ago
5) Ryo Naruse = SURPRISED & VERY LAME...if anything, Naoto or himself should kill him, not Yamano.

On a lighter note, for some reason at the very end when I saw Shiori and Naoto's boss together, I thought they hooked up lol! I was thinking, "Ew, he's twice your age, Shiori-san" :P

I noticed that almost every guy died too. Hmmm the only people left were Shiori, Mari, Takatsuka, Kurata, Nakanishi, Shiori's friend and the detective that disagrees with everything... hmm still a few but nothing compared to how many there were at the beginning of the series. I thought that Kasai and Mari would've died together, I think that would've been sadder

OMG so did I! Especially when I heard him say 'wife' a few times I thought he was talking to her xD (But alas, I just translated it more and it turns out it wasn't and he was talking about his own wife. xD

It's sad because Naoto died trying to stop Naruse from killing himself, but I agree a better ending would've been Naruse couldn't deal with the guilt of what he'd done to Naoto (killing him accidently and what he'd done to his friends) and shoots himself...

It was such a sad ending, but yet a good one. It was so hard to keep myself from crying throughout this episode I wonder what Shirori saw in that last scene o.o

what did Shiori see on the harmonica...? was it the last confrontation...? Oh and btw, I like how they contrasting the dark railway tunnel and then the bright sea-view.. They did a pretty good symbolic peace at the end.. Tomoo always been on a dark tunnel, this one make it seems like he's already on the light.. And I love the butterflies too! ^.^ (though two butterflies.. usually are male and female ones.. lol)

its just OMG. so sad that naoto and naruse both died!!! so many people died in this ep. and shiori didnt make it in time to see naruse before he died!! :[

What they were trying to do, imo, with Shiori and the harmonica... is that she will see their deaths. I think that's what they were trying to get across, well that's what I got across. xD

My brother kept asking me to translate what they were saying but I couldn't cos the audio was so fuzzy xD But I got most of it after I got the raw (probably cos I understand keywords xD)... again with this episode tho, I think a lot of the imagery does the talking, which is why there's about 100 less subtitles xD

Also 6 people died in that episode... Yamano died as well but they don't show it

I actually think Toma and Ohno in the last scene, has got to be some of the best acting in a jdrama... I was really curious to see how Toma would pull off a role like Naoto... and he did such a great job... with both of them you can really feel their struggles in the last scene.

Naruse and Naoto, my OTP

When she touched the harmonica and got a vision thing, I felt she saw the entire confrontation (or perhaps the part where Naruse shot Naoto, kind of like how she saw Naoto stab Hideo). That's what I got from it.

You know what's weird... it wasn't until the end that I noticed how pretty the actress is that plays Shiori... like, I knew she was pretty but it was until the end I thought she was really really pretty... haha anyway all the girls are pretty in that show...

@mintypeach: You're so lucky you have family members following the show... I am going to try to get my brother to watch it. I might try to get my family to watch it, well my Mum anyway if my brother or Dad go away (once they went away to the East and we watched a lot of movies :P) My Mum really likes suspense dramas and supernatural dramas so she might be interested... I dunno how keen she is on Japanese stuff (I'm the only one in my family who watches subtitled stuff except my brother sometimes xD

i know he ending of Mawang and i wasn't expecting Maou would end the same way. but i think tis is the best ending. No one (i mean Naoto n Ryo) can live life peacefully after so many deaths. one thing dat really upset me was DAT YAMANO guy...why did he stabbed Ryo. i wish there's another way for Ryo to die...but to be killed by dat stupid YAMANO...luckily he died also...

the last confrontation was really sad..seriously....i can't stop crying after Noriyoshi die till Naoto n Ryo confrontation.

i think...it's KARMA...(though i don't believe in it), but i think dat's the whole story is all abt. lastly..Naoto lost his family the way Ryo/Tomoo lost his family. and he died...also the same way Hideo died.

I NEVER noticed that before, seriously I'm so stupid! Anyway what I mean is that... Naoto lost his family indirectly through Naruse... and Naruse lost his Mum indirectly through Naoto. Naoto seemed closest to Kasai out of all his friends and he lost him and Naruse lost his best friend too... but the reason

Actually, Naoto never knew about Kasai's death... now I think about it. No one did... You'd think someone would help him on the streets dying there, but anyway... nobody helped Naruse when he was stabbed either xD Or even noticed it

Also, I can't believe everyone went through the series without a costume change (except for Mari and Shiori, and even with Mari she wore similar clothing all the time [long skirts]) Man I pay too much attention to clothing
