Zoos? Why should they be abolished?

Oh, I get it! You mean American public schools. Yep, they definitely need to be abolished.

first off, zoos provide adequate environment for animals to live in, they DONT mistreat the animals otherwise they'll die. they are also a way to preserve wild life as we know it before we completely destroy the wild environment.

think of it as a window that reminds us of past wild life. also, profits go into finding more endangered animals and recovering them, sometimes the zoo releases animals anyway so i don't get whats the hype.

^ not all zoos are humane sadly... but mostly I agree with your statement

i think zoos are educational but we should keep only the indangered speices in there so theres a shed of hope left for the speices to come back into the world

I think lions and tigers should coexist in the same region as us humans in peace.

We should stop being racist and indulge other races in love. Like the chimp or the donkey.

I went to a zoo and reached over a barrier to pet an elephant and it wrapped me in its trunk and tried to pull me in it was probably thinking of taking its rage out on me, but I stroked its face and it let me go

A caged animal is a dangerous one, I know I'd get mad if I was in a cage for the soul purpose of being stared at.

More safari parks! Give them loads of acres to roam, I went to one in England and the animals looked so happy, the wolves were running and playing with eachother and tigers and lions looked happy too. Thats what I want to see.

Yes of course!
there are parks where animals are not in cages...they are in like "big gardens",that seem more like their natural environment..
people can be educated there..and it would be better since animals will be able to move freely and people can see their behaiour in their environment..

So eviiiiiil. LOL

Well, okay. I do find zoos to be somewhat...useless? Except for the fact that little kids can go and get excited about apes throwing poo all over the place. Anyways. The reason I don't like zoos is because of how these animals can never go back to their natural habitat. Since they were raised in captivity, they'd just die in the wild. Also, some zoos are just...cruel man. Like in Taiwan, I saw literally dozens of hippos on top of one another because of the lack of space. And some other ill animals. I told off one of the zookeepers about how they are mistreating their animals. Annnd got kicked out. -_-' I'd like to put in a cage.

I think WE are animals. Most of us probably wouldn't like to be locked up in a cage, yet we go to zoos to point and sometimes laugh at the animals.

HUMANS, who FEED them and clean up THEIR poop. They might as well be laughing at us.

So yes, I think we should abolish them. If not for the animals sake, then because you look like a fool constantly staring at those whose family you could be a part of.

Zoos are a double edged sword. In captivity, endangered animals can be bread and a species can be saved, they are wonderful places to learn, animals have immediate access to medical care if something happens to them (ie birthing troubles, vaccines n stuff). On the other hand, some zoos mistreat animals, animals miss out on their natural state when in captivity, and they can become quite domesticated so once they get released back into the wild, they don't know how to take care of themselves and hunt and stuff so they might end up worse off anyway!

Personally, I think zoos are good

I guess it depends on how the animals are treated in the zoo. I've been to some where the animals are roaming pretty freely as they would in the wild (obviously a little more restricted) and look healthy and well cared for.

But one in particular was terrible D: Just, crap everywhere, hardly any space for animals to move... it's just cruel, really.
