what is your view on heaven? do you believe in it? what do you picture heaven to be like?

i think that once your soul leaves its vessel, it will either be reincarnated or go to a 'heaven' of some sort. many peope think that heaven is one place where everybody lives in harmony after they die. i have to say that i disagree with this; very few people have the same view on what heaven is actually like. what is heaven for one person, may be hell for another. i think that heaven is whatever you make it to be and the same applies to hell; one person may think that being stuck in a classroom doing coursework (EVIL COURSEWORK) for all eternity is hell, but for someone else, it would be fine. one person may think partying all day ad night is heaven, but what about the bookworms who enjoy peace and quiet?

so what do you think? do you believe in heaven? what do you think heaven is like? do you think you will go to heaven?

A man died and went to straight down to hell. The devil greeted him and gave him a guided tour of the place. He told the man that there were three rooms he could chose from in which to spend eternity. The first room was full of flames so hot the man couldn't even breathe. He told the devil that there was no way he was choosing that room. So they moved on.
The next room they came to was full of people who were being beaten and tortured. It looked so painful the man could not watch. He told the devil he definitely didn't want that room, and they moved on.
The last room they came to was full of people who were just sitting around drinking coffee and relaxing. The only thing was that they were standing around in about two feet of poop. The man looked for a while and then told the devil this room would be all right.
The devil gestured for him to sit down and the man took a seat. He did, sipped his coffee and felt really pleased with his choice. After a few minutes, a voice came over the loudspeaker and said, "Break time is over! Back on your heads!"

There is no heaven. The concept exists to

- attract people to an organised religion (and control them)
- make hardships in life easier to bear
- make people less afraid of death

To insane_killer_bunny, i agree and i disagree with your point.
I agree that no two people have the exact same idea about 'heaven' as no one alive has seen it.
But people can interpret heaven as very similar things.

I have a religious perspective on heaven, the muslim perspective, want to know more? Find out about it

Personally, I think heaven and hell can be justified only by your own beliefs. Whether heaven and hell exists or not, and what heaven and hell look like would vary for each person. For example, if a person believes that heaven does not exist, he would not go to heaven since it doesn't exist in his mind. If a person thinks heaven does exist but thinks that he did relatively poorly in life because of his own standards, he would go to his version of hell.

I probably should expand on this but I really need to get back to work. ><

I don't care really, the concept is completely meaningless and useless to me.
instead of thinking about heaven and hell, focus on your life as it is right now, do the Good because doing so it's good in itself, a simple as that.

“To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom.”

i think heaven is a place where everything is perfect, it has nothing to do with what you liked or disliked as a human so it will be the same for everybody, it will be something new and it will be perfect for everyone

I honestly don't believe that heaven exists. Even if it did, we'd have no idea until after we're "resurrected" and living on what god will make, his original idea of "heaven on earth." Things like this make me hate religion even more. It's a crutch. That's all it is.

I have a problem with Heaven...its bland. Earth exists based on a ying/yang principal. Evil exists because of good and good exists due to evil. When there is no evil, there is nothing to measure 'good' against, so how do we possibly tell what is good? After a million years of paradise, it would no longer be paradise because we would have nothing to measure it against...there would be no evil, so heaven would become the norm. And that's why I think, if there is a heaven, its not something our minds can possibly comprehend.
