Shadows of the Wolves

Fear spread like wildfire through Arayas' mind, as she struggled to breath while hidding in the dense undergrowth of the forest. Her heart was beating so hard she thought it would burst out of her chest, her breath a slight whisper as she held it in and her senses alert. The cry of a wolf broke the silence and she looked up to see the moon just barely from were she hid, it shined down on her with full force. Maybe if i make a run for it now..., her thoughts were cut short by a low growl. "come out Araya i know your in there", said a beastly male voice. No, she thought, its not going to end here not now ..it can't end like this.

Reluctantly she crept out from her hiding place, now she was shivering, not from being cold, but she was terrified. The wind blew harshly just at that moment, as if telling her to run for her life, her dark brown hair waved wildly in the wind. But if she did run where would she go? How'd she escape when she had two legs and the thing chasing her had four? A wolf-like creature appeared from a large bush and glared at her with loathing eyes. Araya glared back with defiance and hatred.

Their eyes locked for several moments before the creature dared to take a step closer to her, but she backed away wit every step until she was backed up against a wall of rock. She looked desperatly for an escape route but she only found one, maybe better then running or hidding. Araya started to climb. The wolf creature raced towards her once he noticed but it was too late as Araya had climbed barely out of his grasp. He growled with fustration and leapt up after her, he smiled miliciously but was soon disappointed when he fell back to the gound with her shoe in his mouth. He spat it out angrily and watched as she reached the top. "i can survive without food longer then u girl, you'll have to come down hungry sooner or later otherwise die from starvation,"he shouted up to Araya.

She looked down on him, his eyes glowed red and his fur was sleek black. He was almost completely wolf except for the fact tat he was quite larger, at least five times larger then normal and his fangs were sharper...more larger and gruesome. Finally Araya tore her gaze away from him and notice the rock was flat uptop as if something had sliced it in half. Lying down she felt ice cold now shivering and exhausted from running and hidding. She would slip away as fast and as quietly as she could when the wolf-like creature was sleeping, hoping he was deep in slumber. But before she knew it she fell asleep too tired to care about anything, with only her dreams of what used to be. ***to be continued
