if there is an "unknown" drive there is probably something wrong with it, or windows is being retarded, try using this http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk

I typically use Kubuntu.

*phew! Thanks guys! I downloaded that, and in the end I did delete the unknown partition. Now, I find out the partition isn't big enough

Computer management says my total hard drive capacity is only 35 gbs and the unallocated partition only has 1.84 gb!!
So, I heard Ubuntu uses at least 2 gb?? Or was that another one ><
Is there any way to get more room onto the other partition??

^PartitionMagic. You can set the size of the partition you want to make.

I just installed kubuntu on to this computer yesterday and as soon I as can get it to realize I have a wireless network card, I will start using windows less. I'm not that Linux proficient yet so it may take a while.

I also had a problem with kubuntu recognizing my wireless card (mine is a Broadcom 4318 which tends to have issues on installation). This HOW TO helped me the most in getting it up and running: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=197102&highlight=broadcom+4318

Saving money from buying Winblows, seeing as opensource = free.

For making money though, I'd have to go with Windows for most people. If I remember correctly Ed said he was some sort of designer. Until Photoshop gets properly ported or the GIMP catches up, the Payware on MS Windows beats the shit out of Linux for now on most design to my knowledge.
(No offense to OpenSource software, but most of the time the payware has better features. For the end user it's always good enough (I use it for all my school work), but I'm not sure I'd like to use it for business)

I was going to start using Ubuntu at the start of the year, but then i found out that most of the software required by my course don't work with linux.
It's pretty cool how you can test it out straight from the CD without installing it =D

Hmm I'm gonna use linux on my laptop...cause... windows bores me haha. But I'm not that good with linux and I pretty much forgot most of my unix knowledge from school.

But heres a question... is there a music player that can organize a list like itunes or windows media player?
