Hayate No Gotoku Censored words?
Posted 9/20/08
They were censored by the time it aired in Japan.
Yes, it was a copyright law.
If you really want to know what the words were, get the DVD and go watch.
There is your answer. Quoting will not be answered. Please send your questions

It'd be considered copyright infringement if they didn't censored it..
or it's just for plain ol' fun.

i guess because it's more like an otaku anime series.... it more adds up the hilariousness (is this a word?) of the show... people watching it definitely wonders, i've seen this attack before or this anime character, or something....the good part is, some of it extras are anime's ongoing..... i just love it when they do that...

they do it to make you think about the what the names actually are and thinking about those name also brings up a reason to watch or buy a series

its because they make fun of other animes.
its just for fun. But it only make sense if you now which anime they're referring to.
The beep is just for people to notice these situations

Because they're afraid of like Sunrise sue-ing them for using stuff like Gundam without permission. But generally if you're watching HnG, you should kind of recognize what stuff is..

I remember in Lucky Star, they censored "Code Ge***"
Code Geass. It's kind of stupid to censor that, even though it sounds like ass.

I have a feeling they just censor stuff for fun.

In the Hayate manga that the anime is based on, certain characters in a copyrighted word or title like "Gundam" are usually replaced with a circle or black dot. The bleeped words in the anime are a way of adapting this self-censorship.

It's not limited to HnG... you can find it in most shows that use "references" as a recurring theme in their plot. It's mainly due to copyright that the whole name of something being referenced cannot be named, but there are times where a studio blurts out the entire name of a different show simply because they produced the same show in the past. J.C. Staff is particularly known for this habit.

Also, there are other methods besides the "bleep" that shows use to censor referenced jokes. One way is to say "maru" (circle) or "ten-ten" (dot, as in an ellipse) to block out a name.

Pretty much like people who said censorship due to copyright. Moreover, Hayate no Gotoku is a PARODY anime which means that only subtle hints are given to the viewers otherwise it won't be much of a joke if the show gives you a direct answer.

They prolly censor it theireself. Not like they have to obey any rules seeing it's fansubbing. It's one of the things I never got myself why they censored it.

true.. Another thing I do not get is the placing of swear words into anime, wen there is no swear words in them. Like adding Fuck, or you bastard, wen no there not saying that. I am really against fan subbers doing that. It makes stupid kids.. or just fan... think Anime like the mindless fad Naruto.. Or Bleach.. Or ext ext ext.. Have swearing in it. The fact is Japan has no swear words, best they have is rude remarks. In anime if the creators wanted there characters to use swear words, they swear in German or English. (or any other language that has swearing.)
