a person who has had a genually cruel life will see violence will think it a useful concept
ppl who have had a decent life with some pain, will see it and make them ready for when it happens to them
ppl who have lived innocently will see violenca and want to know more

i once saw a documentary on how violent images affect the human brain . and their is a part of the brain that actually makes you think the action is being done to yourself . so when you see romance you feel happy . when you see something sexual you feel a sense of arousal . and when you see a violent wound you feel a sense of uneasiness and dread of some sort . thats why some people cant stand the sight of blood . the more sensitive you are the less you can actually SEE wounds and dead people .

the overly gruesome movies that are out there now such as SAW and HOSTEL that depict rather ... inventive means of torture and death ... well i myself would never be able to watch even a little clip of it without feeling nauseated .

but i have a friend who is a horror movie freak . he practically giggled when that woman got her eyeball cut out . i found that a tad disturbing . some people are just too desensitized to violence . so one would wonder if people like that found themselves in a situation where there was a woman dying on the streets, would they stop to take pictures, or call for help ?? that example was taken from something i saw on the news once, a woman was dying on the streets from a stab wound i believe, and people just kept walking by or stepping on her, and some took pictures with their cell phones . >.<

It desensitizes us. That's really it...

i go to rotten (a site filled with accidents and a close-up look of the human body after it has been destroyed for whatever reason) and i gotta say that it has somewhat disturbed me for quite sometime, but i'm all used to it by now. i also watch autopsy clips and they're all just pretty interesting to me. i don't think that i would be able to withstand it if i was to be in a real-life situation witnessing people being wounded of any sort though.
