I think many people will encourage this kind of anime being produced and praised
since this are sign of opening up. Although I don't think there will be one, normally one country were urged to produce animations which enforced the own country spirit and national affiliation
I hope nobody mistake this topic for japan-bashing since it's about
OPENING UP.
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide I just found out at wikipedia Until the 30s the Japanese movie industry was dominated by the cinemas, who commissioned animations from small studios or single animators. Due to the fusing and enlarging of animation studios bigger projects were possible, but the necessary money didn't come from the Monbusho or a big cinema. Many animations were instead commissioned by the military, showing the sly, quick Japanese people winning against enemy forces. No I'm not since I've seen several episode of Zipang. This type of anime is kinda rare since the japanese animators fears international criticism.

I think that would be interesting.

I honestly would be a little surprised, but also thankful. Often times, people assume that because we are into anime that it means we are not a part of the real world or that we don't care about what goes on around us. After all, since we are into anime, we must be nothing more than little children.
However, I think many people would agree that based on things such as Grave of the Fireflies that we actually do have a good grasp on what is going on around us.
Lets face it, anime is a great medium to us for sending out messages that sometimes can't be shown with what normal actors and special effects can do.

its kinda hard to make such a thing if the characters is not speaking japanese. And I hate it when they make animes that take place outside asia and the characters is speaking japanese.
And if they make one about the part of the war that accually involved japan, it will be hard to make the japanese seem like the good guys

I can see it now...Private Vasilli in full anime form speaking japanese instead of russian blowing the heads off japanese speaking german officials and troops with his mosin nagant.
|
|
it'd be good, but depends on what part of the war they show...how many movies have been made about pearl harbour and iwo jima and the attacks on japan...there are almost no movies from any country that show the japanese invasions of mainland asia, that is what needs to be done.

Yea , come to think of it , Ken Watanabe and Kazunari Ninomiya in full anime form fighting against japanese speaking Americansoldiers while reading a dead soldier's letter in a FUBAR island battlefield sounds nice, Hey maybe they should add things up a bit like adding up something like "a-good-friend-turned-enemy-and-is-now-piloting-a-new-superweapon-and-you-must-destroy-him-to-protect-your-other-friend" thing right, it would make up a great storyline ,Yeaa I can definitely see that

my goodness, why not just read history books???
Well there are many good stories that could take place in wars but I don't see it as something peculiar.
