hind your personality is just like ed off of Cowboy Bebop. If God made a boulder he could not lift it's because he made the boulder that way. which means since God made the boulder he could lift it if he chose to do so.

Applying this question specifically to the Christian god that claims omnipotence, I conclude that the difficulty lies in our realistic, human concept of the term "existence". The Christian god is said to be both omnipotent and omnipresent, meaning that he/she/it also exists everywhere at all times. This kinda makes sense in an awkward way; if God were running the universe from a single location, like say a cubicle in Silicon Valley, his/her/its existence would be a helluva lot less controversial; I don't know anyone who is "searching for god" that is doing so in a literal, physical sense, like searching for a lost kitty.

Christian dogma supports this omnipresence with The Trinity™, of which I will pull out the bones and pick. God's omnipresence is "The Holy Spirit", which is kinda like The Force, only God is the jedi, not any of us sorry punks. "The Father" is the representation of God's consciousness, and if you had to point where God "is", this is probably where you would point. This makes sense, because your own concept of yourself probably lies in your own mind. Explaining "The Son" is kinda moot in this context, but God lovingly created a avatar, or diverted some of his "existence" into a mortal shell, and let it run around for about 33 years. (Side note, if you look up "avatar", it totally makes sense to use it in an internet context, because you are diverting some of your existence into the digital realm. How cool is that?!)

Now we can address the original question. Everyone is pretty comfortable with their understanding of what it means for a boulder to exist. But as I have presented above, God's existence is slightly different. Someone asked earlier about where this boulder would be lifted to; I'd like to know who would be doing the lifting. We have three choices: a disembodied consciousness, an omnipresent fog, and a divinely crafted puppet that became a real boy and saved the world for all time, like in anime! As far as I'm convinced, this big-ass boulder is limited by the restraints of physical reality and would probably become a black hole when its mass reached a certain point, which God the Father could make dance the Macarena if He was willing, because he'd just have to imagine it. And I'm pretty sure that the Holy Spirit would technically be part of the boulder in question, which makes this route reach a whole new level of weird. And as for Jesus-magic, I think he would sit down with the boulder and ask it about its feelings before getting Pops to turn it into a butterfly or something that would move itself so he wouldn't have to, then write it into one of his parables. Not that I think Jesus is lazy, he just loves expanding our little minds and is kinda an attention whore, no matter how much he downplays it. Seriously, something with infinite mass would have infinite gravity and instead of an H-bomb, you would have the atoms inside the boulder fusing and the thing would blow up before anyone could be a show-off.

I know I took the question too literally, but anything relevant has already been said

God wouldn't do that he already learned his lesson about creating pointless things. He created a beautiful world and everything in it served a purpose, but due to lack of sleep he created people on a whim and let's face it that didn't work out very well did it.
