I just keep a look out for all the new releases and watch the first 5 eps of whatever looks good. If it's terrible off the bat I may drop it after the third, or even the first if I just can't finish it. But a lot of times I rely on recommendations, too.

So then I am curious about how the rest of the world chooses anime to watch. I am going to guess Netflix or some other movie service but I don't have that.

For me choosing a new anime is well random. I may read the description on the back of a DVD or a box set. And I may look at a few reviews but in the end I tend to just grab anime off the shelf and watch.

Buying dubbed anime is a risk in and of itself, since anime can be very expensive. So I am wondering what methods others may have for choosing anime to purchase?

Animesource.com has lots of handy reviews done by regular Anime fans like you and me. You might even try doing some reviews yourself. Thumbs up. Thumbs down.

I usually go and read the reviews on a couple of websites and then I may look at the trailer or some of the characters that are in it...or sometimes I watch a couple of random episodes to see if it looks interesting or not lol.
