1. Toyota
2. Honda
3. Subaru
4. Nissan
5. Mazda
6. Mitsubishi

Toyota has been running the game since it overtook GM in sales. Produces some of the most reliable cars to date, as well as the most potent Japanese muscle car Supra.

Honda is the shizzle when it comes to largest fanbase and aftermarket backing. Honda has been known for their stout reliable over the years. Though they could produce a RWD sports coupe instead of the Integras.

Ah Subaru, if it wasn't for my blatant biased opinion of you, you'd be somewhere else.

Nissan, if it wasn't for their Silvias, Zs, or Skylines, they would've been 6th. Sharing similar features from car to car, it's hard to tell a difference from a quick glance.

Mazda, the good ol' rotaries. Despite their rotaries. I am not the fan of non-rotary powered Mazdas except the Miata. Their non-rotary cars tend to be lacking when it comes to appearance, specs, or overall design. Though their lineup improved with the Mazda 6 and Mazda 3 hatchback which pretty solid design. The upgraded Mazdaspeed 6 is definitely a car I'd buy.

Mitsubishi, get ready Evo fans, I'm laying it down like that dude who laid Paris Hilton. Of all the large Japanese car manufacturers. Mitsubishi takes dead last in my book. Let me explain myself of why I say this. Other than the Evo and Starion, Mitsubishi has not put out any other hard hitting car that really makes me drool or envious. I don't consider the 3000GT or the 1st & 2nd Gen Eclipses part of the Mitsubishi lineup because of their DSM counterparts. Other than the Evos and Starions, there really isn't much that came out of Mitsubishi.

A cheaper rwd compact from Honda that'd most likely rival the Silvias.

That will probably happen sooner rather than later I expect. Now that there is speculation of bringing Silvias back, I expect Honda to drop price to match them or bring in another RWD coupe. I see another coupe before a price drop, seeing that S2K's still sell very well.

Toyota and Nissan are a tie. Both companies are constantly pushing for more innovative car solutions and products. The new Skyline is a monster and the Supra will always be a favourite.
