I read about 20 min. a day, because I like to reflect things in the Bible, because a lot of it I don't understand until I think it over and over again. =) Plus, I'm taking the "Read-the-Bible-in-1-Year" routine.

I mean daily. It is important to take off even a few minutes to read the word of God. It not only strengthen's your relationship with him but as well strengthen's your faith and your mind.

Now obviously week to week differs, but if I had the opportunity, I would sit in church all day, eat sleep and read the bible and sing. But life is complicated school backs up and things happen, but I like so many other people I know, once I start reading it's so hard for me to stop. Gaps in classes you can find me outside reading, or studying for a test i forgot to study for lol. But one shouldn't be graded on how much they read, but rather how much it is seen in their life. Walk the walk talk the talk as the saying goes. A pastor once told me to pray twice as much as I read, for even if we read we may not understand the full implications of what we read. And also we can't live the word of God with out prayer to support us in our walks. They need to be in sync.

I am never too busy to have fellowship, I just lack the ability to multi-task and time organization. Every moment I miss here it shows in my reading as well.

I don't think it matters how long you spend reading the Word, but how much of it resonates with you.

I read daily, for my devotions. It's really great! I learn a lot with just a couple of minutes a day.

It's got to be more like falling in love.

I disagree, I think you should read as much as possible, rather than seeking help or guidance from others we should seek the word first. I believe it is essential to being a Christian. It means nothing if I stay a baby Christian my entire life. It's also disrespectful if you choose to look at it from that angle. He tells us to read and to grow, and if we do not grow, its defiance is it not? I might be over some of your heads on this one and I apologize, but for those of you who understand it really hits home. We cannot be who God wants us to be by being satisfied or content with the knowledge we have. |

I'm trying to be in the habit of reading my bible every night again...since I always get sleepy when I get to the bed...but I'll make it a habit again to read 1 chapter a day...then on Saturdays, 2 or maybe 3...then memorize. ^_^ just like before...
Sometimes I read my bible at school too...(then my classmates would go, "sssshhh quiet! there's a bible study going on!") |

I dont think it matters how long we read the bible as long as we read it in order to understand what God wants in our lives. The Bible is the living, breathing word of God...we should focus more on what God wants to tell us from the word more than how long we spend reading it. Sometimes I just open up my Bible and the perfect verse is staring me straight in the face and other times i search and search and read for an hour and feel like i still haven't grasped what God wants to speak into my life. God is amazing and we shouldn't limit his power with time...I'm not condemning anyone so don't worry...i just felt that we should focus on what's more important.
