Lesson 2: Introducing new tags:

BOLD tag; <b> </b> or <strong> </strong>

ITALIC Tag (emphasis); <i> </i> or <em> </em>

BREAK Tag (this tag inserts line breaks or imitates hard return); <br> </br>

PARAGRAPH Tag; text between the paragraph tags are automatically wrapped (automatic word placement) by the browser <p> </p>

Lesson 2.5: Paragraph Alignment!

text alignment is the position relative to the sides of the page: left, right, centered & justified

Usually default alignment is left align, this goes for the paragraph tag as well. (what you are reading is left aligned) If you want to change this you have to add an attribute. An attribute contains value that modifies the features of an element.

::::Examples::::

for center align:
<p align="center">This Paragraph will be centered.</p>

for justified align:
<p align="justify">This paragraph will be justified.</p>

Note: Attributes are only included in the opening tag!

~try it out mess around with the new tags you've learned!~

Lesson 3:

-I will try to explain these as best I can.

Introducing New Tags:

HEADING tags: in heading tags there is <h1> through <h6>
<h1> is the biggest, it makes your test larger/ emphasize your text. There are six levels of headings, which are 1 through 6. Each heading 'level' has a specific formating associated with it (font size, space above & below heading) HEADING 1 has the largest and most important information, in turn HEADING six has the smallest font.

<h1> </h1>, <h2> </h2>, <h3> </h3>.....<h6> </h6>

HORIZONTAL RULE (line) tags: <hr> tag makes a horizontal rule across the (width) of the page. It can be used to divide the page into sections. This makes it easy for reading. The horizontal rule CAN be modified with attributes for specifics like: width/ allgnment/ thickness (of line). Horizontal rule doesnt need to be turned off (end command) with a slash (/ ). Default alignment for <hr> is centered.

horizontal rule example with rule- 50%, alignment- left, pixel size- 4:
<hr width="50%" align="left" size="4">

COMMENT tags: comments explain HTML for the reader, they DO NOT appear on the web page only in the HTML.
→angle bracket, exclamation mark, two hyphens.

example using above <hr> tag:

<!-- draws a left aligned horizontal rule 50% with pixel size at 4-->

Assignment 3.1: Take this paragraph and use 6 different tags to put it in HTML format.
(just copy & paste the paragraph)

One day, a wolf snuck into a group of friendly rabbits. As the others fell asleep , the wolf appeared in it's natural form. Day by day, one by one, the wolf killed and ate the rabbits. The rabbits not knowing which was the wolf, arranged a meeting. The tribunal decided on the one amongst them that they believed to be the wolf, and killed it. If they chose correctly the rabbits win. If they were wrong , all of the rabbits would be killed and eaten by the wolf. This is the story such a game. Doubt [Rabbit]]

Next Lesson I will introduce a little color & list.. ill try to get to drop list
