Counter-Culture or Popular-culture?

Well Counter-culture has alaways been defined as sub-culture that belives thing outside the social norms of modern time.
Say today a peron would reject reality tv,and other populare thing accepted by either the youth or older society and embrace other such Goths.Emos,Loners,And other Sub-socities that live outiside the norm of todays culture.
Well today it seems the High school musical, and other Highly over rated teenage fads are all the rage these day.
I for one cant stand it.
The way we idolize these cerliberties is outrages and absurd.Come do you really need to know what they eat everyday and where they live and whos the best and worst dress.Get it together and myspace try PedoSpace.
what good has myspace brought anyone.Youtube try porntube.yeah take away anime and leave the porno great job guys..not.

What do you choose?
Me i both loath and reject popular american socitey the age of vanity and mis-information is nigh people anyway, what do you you think?

oh man this topic.

I like to consider myself an eclectic-culture. Knowing about many different things happening around me but not letting myself get immersed so much that i become a douchebag. Staying outside of the mainstream can rlly turn you into a weird fake jaded asshole elite-ist. And putting yourself in the typical pop culture groups can turn you into a myspace/facebook addict vain uninteresting douchebag. ( i didnt put commas on purpose btw!)

young ones tend to go for the norm in their society and others get a culture shock once they visit other places with a quite different culture

I'd rather not go through life as a clone and like what the media tells me to like, and even though I would say I lean more towards counter-culture, I also think that people don't have the right to point fingers at what they think conforming is unless they're talking about themselves. So what I do is simply decide for myself, steering clear of idiotic MTV followers and making decisions on what I like for myself.

I pretty much think the same way. It's more fun to make your own choices than follow the crowd like a bunch of sheep.
