the thing is, most emos have nothing to be emo about! they are all depressed and everything but they have no reason. for example, a friend of mine has been:
raped and molested. repeatedly
beaten by her dad
beaten by her mum
has been coming home to an empty house since she was about seven.
as a result of these, she has to take medication for PTSD, hallucinations and God knows what else. but does she go all depressed about it and dump it on everyone around her like an emo? no! she had a reason to be depressed, but she's not emo. emos have nothing to complain about. they just want attention and they're going the wrong way about it.

i heard emo stands for emotional kid. and they dont conform to style and societies genres. but since they became emo they contradict there believes. and the other thing i heard alot whine about how no one understands them and how they are alone, well there are thousands of emo's everywhere and your hanging out with other emo's so i guess someone understands you. well long story short, they are a plague and should be wiped off this planet, like any disease.

Yeah, the hairdo...I like it actually and I don't mind boys wearing make up. It's just, if you're going to be chronically depressed and suicidal and all, that's goth territory, isn't it? They have to be pissed (the goths) that they were robbed of their main trait

Your doing the same as everyone else who labels emos. What someone is MEANT to be like is not up to anyone else. You can't say "this is what you are meant to be like" to people, because its not up to you.
I think titles are stupid but you can't tell a Goth that they should want to kill them self, nor can you tell a hippy to believe in peace and love.
Its just not up to you.

You mean black hair?? Cause I have black hair and, um, you kind of can't help what hair color you're born with...

First of all, in that post I was referring to the other's description of "emo", which well fits the usual description of a goth. Second, I'm not telling anyone to be like anything, I pointed out before that I dislike labelling, though I especially dislike people labelling themselves like that. Anyway, as I said in the first post, I don't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable with this thread and I don't think this topic is anything to be dead serious about.

^Don't worry. Noones calling you emo, because your naturally black haired. If that were the case, I'd be another emo.

if people are going to say emo just stands for emotional then shouldn't everyone be called "emo"? unless you're completely emotionally dead.

I hate the fact that people feel the need to label one another..

Having feelings or emotions doesn't make me emotional. Being emotional to me means spilling over your emotions and having a difficulties to hold back.I consider whiny people emotional. As insane_killer_bunny pointed out, lots of people tend to complain and whine about pretty ordinary problems.

emos pisses me off. most of them that i know or knew in the past have had stupid fake ass problems, and are depressed by unimportant, non traumatic events in their life. “o im sooo depressed because my parents wont let me stay out as late as other kids. I going to go cut myself now”
whenever I tell people about my past and what I’ve been through they go on and classify me as part of the whole emo crowd.
I used to cut myself, tried to kill myself and almost succeeded, but that’s part of my pass that im grateful for that, because without that, I wouldn’t be as strong as I am today. I enjoy life more and see things in a way that not many of my friends do.
Why whine about life when you can do something about it. Why be depress when you don’t have any reasons to be? Why try to kill yourself when your soul hasn’t been broken?
Emo *****
not to say all of them are like that. just the majority of them
