ok, i dont know if this has already been said but here it goes. emo is short for emotional, right? well think about it, how many emotions are there? an emo person is just someone who shows strong emotions. they dont have to wear black or girl pants or anything like that. and not all emo people cut themselves, its just stereotyping. and if you talk to most people who cut themselves you will see that they are either stupid or actually have problems.

I heard people calling other people "emo" . But I think emo referring as people that cut themselves. Thats what some people told me. But I'm sure how the whole "emo" thing is either. Cause I thought it stands for emotional.

nah. there's a difference between a cutter and 'emo'.
i've had a lot of friends who cut themselves for the hell of it but never considered themselves emo. and they never complained about life much. they might have, but not publicly like what these 'emos' do

'emos' are just punk rockers who want to be different and think their life is shit because the world is full of negative things. yes, i called you american emos punk rockers -___-

seriously. before... there was only rock. then came alternative, grundge(?), and punk. now there's pop rock. emo. etc.
and you can't tell me that emo and punk doesn't sound the same -___-
again. i'm mostly talking about american emo

most of what you described, i would call poser. they think because they do those things that they are emo. but really alot of them are scene kids or just posers.

Fucking Emo...

There was a time when "emo" is nonexistent... A sappy goth sub-culture deluding themselves with sorrow and other negative emotions... Proclaiming to the world that they're "emo", they're sad, they're pathetic, they desire death... Assholes... I was pretty much all that a few years back... heck I'm still exhibiting symptoms even after years of therapy and medication... The only difference is that I am not a poser... I don't need to wear black in order to be black... because "emo" like rock and roll is simply a state of mind...

That is a philosophy I firmly adhere to... I cut myself for a reason, I purposely thrive on the self-inflicted pain because it drowns my emotions reminding me that I'm still alive because I bleed and I worship death because I find life disgusting... Those bastards only do that shit because of mass media...! Shit... During my time People like me are called closet sociopaths or "buang" behind our backs and yes it was probably true because it's society that created people like us in the first place... Nowadays it's like "Wow you're an emo?!" Telling the world that you just want to be left alone and you want to die is a fucking lie...!

The hypocrisy of it all... A real "emo" does not go around telling people that his life is pointless and he just wants to end it all... If you can't back up the crap that's coming out of your mouth then you're better off not saying anything... The truth of the matter is that most "emos" you see today just say those things because they love to bask in the limelight...

They get aroused if they know that people are noticing them which is probably why they wear clothes not suited for the tropical weather of our Motherland and spend their days wandering around the mall so that their eyeliners, make-up and foundation won't melt under the sun...! That's not "emo" that's being fashionista...!

A real emo won't hesitate to walk around the city under the blaring heat of the noon day and bitch about it... Why would he do it you ask...? Because he's crazy that's why... We have real, factual and concrete evidences of why we ended up the way we are... You just don't go from rocker to punk to emo in a span of months... Not without the help of a big closet and a fat wallet...

To become an "emo" there has to be a series of reasons as to why your psyche became fucked up... and no, MTV is not one of them... Now let me ask you a question... Are you still an "emo"...?

I think emo is just a style. It was trendy for a while, but people are just getting tired of it. You could still a few of them lingering around. It'll be over soon.

-_- I very much hate this subject... It is a sterotype of an emo to wear constant black, eyeliner, complain about their life, listen to Rock and Metal music, and for some reason take drugs ::shrugs:: And the one I hate the most - Self-harm.

A lot of people self-harm, a lot of people take drugs, a lot of people listen to rock and metal music and complain about their lives. You'd seriously be suprised!! But just because certain people do it all without wearing white, or pink, or maybe with a fake plastered smile on their face, it must mean it's because they're EMO.

Sod that. There's a few people on here who know me, and the way I act, and my opinions. I wear all black almost all of the time. I sometimes wear an excess of eyeliner. I prefere rock and metal over crappy dance music with pointless lyrics about 'baby, I'm missing your love, angel'. And sometimes I have an opinion on how life can be crappy sometimes.

Am I Emo?

No, I have no sterotype. And neither does anybody else. We're all unique, and nobody has the right to put us into one group of people.

Heh, rant over ^_^

lol I liked what you had to say...

About being Emo though - I don't think it's dying out per say >.< But maybe that's because most of my friends would be considered "emo".

I hate the fact that people call people 'emo's' because of that certain way they dress (In my area, you'd be an emo if your wore converse, tight jeans and the rest..) but it annoys me because the people in my school that dress that way aren't frickin emotional depressed at all! In fact they're happier than the rest of the people in my school so... I dunno.. *sigh*

I LOL'd. To be honest, I don't really know, but I'm thinking that this place isn't really too serious about emos. Like me, I honestly find them laughable for some reason, so people here might just want to use them as a joke or something. However, I haven't met any really big emos around me, considering that I live in a happy neighborhood, so some of the users here in their real life might have seen some of them and just found them despictable.

So they probably just want to make fun of them or make them a really bad thing on an internet message board~!

Does every god damn post you make in the emo threads have to be about you finding them funny? Why not discuss something else? For god's sake.

Actually, I added the fact that I laugh at them with some other details aswell. So I'm not just saying that I laugh at them. And would you rather want me to lie? I find them funny as to their comments, but would you rather want me to say that I find them depressing? Tell me. I'll be listening.
