I think most enthusiasts will agree with me on this, but in my opinion the best mod you could ever do to your car to make it faster is to save money and enroll yourself in a certified racing school like Skip Barber.

There was a story about a guy who lost control of my friend's mitsubishi evo at a amateur time attack competition because the brake fluid boiled. he did a series of 'drifts' to slow the car down without plowing it into a wall.

Proper training makes your car perform better and makes you a safer driver.

I disagree, I believe the best thing you could possibly to is marry into the family which has elite racing history. Keiichi Tsuchiya's daughter perhaps? and learn from him.. xD

If you or I tried hitting up Tsuchiya's daughter i have a feeling he'd find a way to nullify all connected assets and organize a mob of race fans to kick our asses. Most dads don't really like the boys a girl brings home y'know... lol

yah.. if only those dori girls were attractive.. well hey if you know who Ashley force is, her dad is a famous dragster racer and he got his 3 hot daughters into it too. They are around 20s and have quite a few titles of their own.

Either that.. or marry a guy.. LOL D:

If you like men, that's all you. I have nothing against it. But i'd never bend over literally even if it meant a racing career.

Lol, depends on how good the career would be. Plus... i mean there is always divorce. Marry the dude, get the career, don't sit for a few days, and the drop him and find a hot chick. The girl will come easy with the career

Any way... back on topic!
Does anybody know the way to cut power to the front wheels on an AWD?? My friend bought the Evo X and wants it so he can drift.

I don't think AWD vehicles drivetrains can withstand 100% power to the rear for long... I believe some guys w/Subarus tried it (SVX) and they reported the handling went to isht. Lock the center diff. and remove the front half shafts. Don't know if the electronics would freak out or not though.

get rid o the transfer case and connect the driveshaft all the way through to the back. Sounds easy but the problems that await lol. have fun. Why the hell would you want to drift a 40k car though. crash it and game over. I mean if you got that kinda money by all means but yeah haha id keep that car awd tho

If the sudden marriage then sudden divorce thing was so easy, people would be doing it all the time. Trust me there's a ton of other factors that goes into it which honestly makes me not want to get married with anyone, period.

and as has been stated by several others, why the hell would your friend take a new Evo X and want to modify it into a RWD just for drifting? Anything is possible if you have the money, but IMO the safest method is to find a reputable torque converter and all the necessary conversion hardware so that rather than unplug the front wheels, you instead just reroute a larger portion of the power to the rear ones. IMO if he wants to drift that damn badly, keep the Evo as a daily and go buy an 89-91 240SX for $2k somewhere, upgrade the basic stuff, and drift that. or go with Kitsune's method. Either way, i have a feeling if your friend goes through with this we'll all have a new 'anti evo' meme on the loose.

Thats was my thought, but he's a rich bitch and daddy's money paid for it. But if you think about it, how many drifting Evo Xs would there be other than his??
