when i heard i almost cried. on 9/20/08 toonami officially ended with a 'bang' after 11 years. if you are like me, you remember the good old days when the airing anime was awesome and tom didn't look stupid. let us wallow in grief and nostalgia as i ask: what are your favorite memories of toonami?

My best memory would probably being watching DBZ every afternoon after returning home from middle school.

It didn't have the best anime, but when you're 15 and bored every day after school, it was badass.
Sometimes I think, if it weren't for Toonami, I wouldn't have watched Gundam Wing, and I wouldn't have gone beyond Sailor Moon in my anime fandom.

I'm sure the original poster means the good old Toonami days, when Snick was no longer "cool" for your age and Moltar (from Space Ghost) hosted, then it was that Tom dude.

And I'm still convinced that Toonami was to blame for the DBZ craze.

yeah i thought tonami was awsome and use to watch it all the time until it became totally gay i mean i prefered the old tom not the first one but the second one was sooo much cooler now he looks like some kind of I-Robot reject which that movie was pretty lame all on its own

aww, toonami was my childhood as well. it got me hooked on anime as well. i LOVED sailor moon. i don't care what anyone says, that was such a revolutionary anime. And DBZ was okay too, there was a point in time when i was really into it. i also loved.. damn what was the name of that computer-based show... oh REBOOT!! I loved that show as well. i really miss those good ol' days. but i'm glad toonami is gone now, it should have ended a long time ago. last time i saw it, it was pretty stupid. tom is a poser

I still remember returning home to watch Toonami everyday after school. It is such a sad thing to think that it has ended.
