Post Reply Does Age Matter in Friendship?

No, but the level of maturity does. If you prefer mature people as your friends no matter their age, then age does not matter.

well i would say it doesnt matter but in different societies like korea alot of people hang on to age superiority. So most of the times its not friendship but more like u have to respect the person whos older.

Nope age doesn't really matter. I have a lot friends in real life that are 6 and even 10 years older then me as well as friends that are 5 years younger then me. As long as they don't act so immature and stupid then I'm fine with having anyone as my friend really.

I don't think it matters. As long as you have common interests and your personalities gel, age will end up being just a number

I don't think age matters in creating friendships, though it might dictate the type of friendships, and the boundaries of the relationship.

I think it does if the friends are younger than you. I have friends that are still in high school (I'm in college) and now I see how immature their decisions are and how things that I think are insignificant, they think are the biggest deals in the world. It is just a different mindset.

I think age matters sometimes. i really do. not everyone can be your friend at any age, i mean a REAL Friend, not just someone u call a friend just to label them.

Depends on what kind of relationship .

Lover / Friends / Best friend / Anime-freak friends / The friend that you can be weird with / YOLO friend.

Age can play a role. Someone older might be more understanding of things than someone whose younger or vice versa.

I think the older you get the less age matters. At age 22 I have more older friends than I did when I was a teenager. Some of my friends are in their 30's and 40's and I have no problem with that. I still have friends my age, but age has become less of a factor.
