No. Some of my friends are my age, some younger, some older.

I am always amazed at the deep philosophical questions posed on cr forums..and I'm not being facetious.
What is friendship? How is it being defined? And in what ways dose age matter or not? Depending on how one views friendship and what their expectation are of the relationship..the answer can be either yes or no. If friendship is being defined as something superficial..then no..age doesn't matter.
I expect my friends to be there for me..midnight calls and all..and they expect the same from me. I can't get that from a 14 yr old. On a superficial level we can be "friends"..really it would be more like a mentoring.

Not really. All depends on the person and our ability to get along.

No. Age doesn't even come close to mattering in a friendship. I have a friend who is double my age, in fact we're so close we consider each other Brothers now.

Yes, age matters ....

After 107 pages I've seen very few 'yes' answers...

Age is the keyword.

1: A 300-year-old person (dead) cannot be friends with a person that is living.
2: A 4-second-old person does not have the ability to understand friendship.

If there is even a single reason why age could possibly matter; the answer to the question is yes.

In answer to #2, a part of that statement technically becomes a philosophical debate. If one side does not understand friendship, but the other believes it to be friendship...does that truly mean it is not friendship at all despite how strongly one side feels?
