Answers may varies depending how an individual define FRIENDSHIP....

For me... I don't know because I don't know exactly what the word FRIENDSHIP mean.

What is it anyway? What is the main factor that you can call FRIENDSHIP?

I think not because I'm friends with a lot of people who are older than me. Some of my friends who I trust most are 10 years older. My close group of friends our age difference varies from 1 year to 6 years.

Age in friendship does not matter. I am close friends with several people who are about 10 to 15 years older than me. But I also have close friends who are 4 years younger than me. My relationships with these people are not hindered by our age differences. In fact, in the case with the ones who are older than me, they help me. They give me advise about things they went through and have experience with. And they introduce me to new things that could potentially help me in my future.

I mean, I'm not about to start hanging out with toddlers and playing make believe with them. But generally I don't have an issue wit older or younger friends. I may just play a different role in their life depending on how they view me.

Some older people I regard as equals and some I regard as my mentors. The same can be said for younger friends.

This is a tricky question for me because ....I'm on both sides of the fence!

When you're old enough like 15+ it's alright, you can have friends of any age because you are able to distinguish from right or wrong and you can decide by yourself what you want but I wouldn't let my ...let's say my 6 year old son/daughter to have friends who are too old because their mentalities are different and kids can be easily influenced.

With me, it sort of depends. For example, I'm not good with being around little kids. I went to a K-8 school, and when I was in 8th grade, we had to be "buddies" with a first grader and do activities together. I felt kinda uncomfortable.

It matters in that it may change the dynamics of the friendship but, strictly speaking, friendship does not have an age requirement. Although you will probably have less in common with someone of a vastly different age, and if you're young enough, it's likely your current tastes will change dramatically anyway.

Yeah I think it matters somewhat. Friends with huge gaps in age are a little strange to me.

nope. age is never a factor to me in friendship. ive noticed now the friends i make online all tend to be younger then me, makes it slightly difficult to find things to talk about though lol i'll be like "hey remember rainbow brite and jem and the holograms?" and then they are just like "nope. not a clue." then i feel sad cause i let my age show a little too much lol

So i won't be labeled a Lolicon for hanging out with devoted Lolita girls 5 years younger than me? YES!!! ... Though i don't want to do that unless i'd act as a big brother rather than an equal, a friend. I'd be okay with 1-4 years or older. :p

And i see most people just go all. Meh, it's okay with all ages. But i dunno... A friend is someone you play with. There are other names for people you are friendly with. Like acquiantance, mentor and more.
