Does Age Matter in Friendship?
|
A little bit, but it shouldn't. It's probably just me who feels inferior to older friends. x[

i dont think it should matter. as long as the motivation behind the relationship is just friendship, there should be nothing wrong with that at all. however, if there is some intent of abuse and misuse of one's resources behind, that something to think about.... companionship is a universal need, right? it doesn't matter how old or young one is... so don't worry, pretty soon, you'll meet some great person who'll see through you. however, we can not really deny that there are many restrictions in our society that affects our mentality and pov of things..
take care and im sorry about what happened. |

I think age doesn't matter at all when it comes to relationships. I have a girlfriend who's 19 and is at her first year of college and i'm 15 n at my first year of High School. Does that stop us from being bf and gf? Definitly NOT!! But that's not what the law thinks, so we pretend like we're just friends in public n infront of our families. But then again, I want to hurry up and be 18 so I won't endanger her from being arrested. -_-
We've been together for 3 years by the way. |

imo, age doesn't matter in a friendship. Reason I say this is because being a parent of 2 teens, I can say that I'm capable of understanding the "older generation" & thanks to my kids, I can relate to others of the younger genre. Their friends even actually say that "wow, your dad is cool...." which to me is a compliment!! I guess it's because though my own parents were old fashioned in a way, I took what I deemed were the best things they taught me, and modified it so as I can be the best of both worlds when it became my turn to be a parent...

mishymoo wrote: First off, I'm sorry about what happened! In my opinion, age does not play a factor into friendship. Anybody can be friends. A random example off the top of my head is: Say you're doing volunteer work at an elder care home. You get to know the elderly people there and you get to chat with a lot of them and become close! They can be your friends too, even though you are decades apart. Anything's possible with friendship. That happened to me at high school |

I don't think it matters I have a friend that is like 60 years old and I'm like 20 and we have good conversations. I think of her like a grandma to me.
