Okay... I'm gonna help Kira out here, so for those who'd like to join, PM (personal message) kira14 beforehand. You new guys are a month behind, but if you can catch up, you'll have to study the Japanese Hiragana Table and phonetics. I don't know the specific link that Kira gave, but just google it and study these basic concepts:

1. The hiragana table
2. How to write hiragana characters
3. How to pronounce hiragana characters
4. Understanding special characters (i.e. double vowels and double consonants)

^ did you mean "daisuki desu"? If I'm not mistaken, "suki" means "thrust" or "stab"...

I'm not sure of the exact difference, but both do mean I love you... I think the difference lies in where each phrase is used... help us out here kenshin1986?

aishiteru is sort of... how to describe... more... clean? More on the ai/love than the suki/like. I guess it's higher in the table of what to say for confessions.

EDIT: daisuki means "like very much" cuz of dai-. that's why there's also daikirai, even if hate is already kirai.

^ hmm... yeah, I knew that. It's rare that I hear "suki" alone... reminds me of my Aikido classes and we performed "suki" attacks... thus the word "stab".

Oh carp... Kira might kill me for doing this...

Guys, read the first post and read my notes on how to join. I didn't start this thread, and I'm not giving the lessons either. If you want to catch up, you have a month of catching up to do. Kira14, the guy offering the lessons, is currently with his father, and I haven't heard from him since. He was supposed to give an exam a week or two ago, but because of the recent events, the whole thing was put on hold.

For the mean time, if you'd like to take the exam, study basic hiragana. That's all I can do to help as of now.
