And what do you mean by that? What "choices" are you talking about?

I think the only thing that actually makes human beings different from other organisms is that we choose our actions. I don't think God takes an active role in this world anymore, if he ever did in the first place. Whether or not we believe or worship anything is our own choice, as is how we treat others and whether we blame things on God or the world or anything.

I don't think there are any absolutes in this world. Two people in exactly the same circumstances can take the same actions and end up with two completely different results. People can do terrible crimes and live happy lives without ever being punished while others can work hard and honestly their entire lives only to see their family suffer and die. Some might take that to mean that there is no God, but I take it the other way.

I've heard preachers talking about how if you put your life in the hands of the Lord then all your needs will be taken care of, but I've seen that that's not true. If you do that and good things happen it's probably just coincidence. Working hard and smart will increase your chances of being successful or happy, but nothing is ever for sure. If there is any reward or punishment for your actions, it's in the next world, not this one.

Good and bad things happen in this world, it's your choice as to whether or not you let them affect how you think and what you choose to do next.

I'm sure I could have done a better job conveying my thoughts some other time, but I'm tired and shit so this is the best I can do.

Well-explanatory. I think that's the best response I've heard in the longest time throughout my whole reign of being a CR member. Better than nothing.
