chap 4---------------------

“Ayu…!” Yumi called out to Kojima Ayu as the twins entered the class, “Good morning!” the best friends greeted each other as per normal, “Chiaki-Chan… what are you doing?” Aiko asked as she peeked into Chiaki’s wallet where she saw a small photo of the four of them together.
“Eh!?” she exclaimed, astonished that Chiaki still kept the photo, “wasn’t that taken when we graduated from Junior High?” she asked.

Chiaki nodded and replied, “I really cherish this photo a lot, Aiko-Chan… that’s why I want us to be friends forever!”
Aiko smiled at her friend sweetly. Those were words from the bottom of Chiaki’s heart. Who could ever resist such a friend? Aiko then realized that there was another photo… it was a photo of a guy!!!! Surprised that Chiaki has a photo of a guy in her wallet, Aiko asked curiously, “Chiaki-Chan~ who’s that guy? Out with it!!!! Is he your boyfriend or something…?” narrowing her eyes at Chiaki.

Chiaki then smiled awkwardly and explained, “Well… he’s… a childhood friend of mine… Yamashita Shoon. He’s older than us by two years though.”
Aiko’s eyes widened as Yumi and Ayu came to join in, “YAMASHITA SHOON!?” they exclaimed in unison, “Chiaki~ you are SO LUCKY~ you know so many idols~!!!!” Yumi said, full of admiration as Chiaki continued to smile awkwardly.

“Kojima…!” someone called from behind.
The twins turned around to see who was calling them and they realized that it was their coach, Akanishi Jin. Wondering what the matter was, the twins went up to the coach as he announced, “Training will be cancelled today.”
The twins looked at each other and asked, “Why?”
Jin then pouted in a childish manner and explained, “Because today there’s a live broadcast of Hey! Say! JUMP and everyone has gone to watch them perform…”
The twins nodded as their coach left them with his head hanging low. On their way to the school gate they noticed that Chiaki was standing alone at the school gate as if she was waiting for someone, curious, they went up to her and asked, “Chiaki, who are you waiting for?”

Chiaki then smiled at them and replied, “Shoon-Kun said that he’s going to fetch me home today. You want to come over to my place?” the twins then looked at each other and Ayu said, “Alright! Since training is cancelled today…”, “and we want to check out that guy…! Who knows? Maybe Chiaki-Chan WILL have a boyfriend!!!!” Aiko exclaimed, thrilled at the thought of her timid best friend having a boy friend… and her boy friend is none other than Yamashita Shoon!!!

On the way home, they have definitely attracted much attention from the many girls that they walked pass, their eyes glued to the HOT HOT Yamashita Shoon. The girls heaved a sigh of relieve the moment they were behind Chiaki’s door, “it was scary to be stared by so many girls~!!!” Aiko exclaimed
“Yeah~!! I feel that they’re going to pounce onto me anytime~!!!” Shoon added, “EH~!!?” the girls exclaimed in unison.
Chiaki then patted the head of her friend, Shoon and said, “Heh… heh… Shoon-Kun, you think too highly of yourself…”
Shoon then poked Chiaki on her head and joked, “Hey! Hey! Hey! I only fetched you out of convenience! You don’t think too highly of yourself too! My girl fans will be sad! I’m sacrificing my image here!”
Chiaki then stuck her tongue out of Shoon and yelled, “I’m home!” as she placed her shoes away.
Yuto rushed down the stairs with what sounded like a stampede, “Welcome home!” he screamed, stuffing his feet hurriedly into his sneakers and trying to fit himself into his oversized jacket.
“Eh?? You have work today?” asked Chiaki curiously.

“Yeah~! Tell Oka-San not to cook my dinner! Bye, Nee-Chan! Bye, Shoon-Kun!” he said in a rush and before you know it, he was already out of the house.

Chiaki was serving them drinks in the living room when the girls, out of curiosity, asked Shoon, “What club activities do you join?” Ayu questioned, taking a sip at her cup of water.
“Well…” Shoon answered, looking thoughtful for a moment, “I play basketball. I heard from Chiaki that she has friends who play basketball too… so I’m guessing that that’ll be the both of you?”
Ayu and Aiko smiled radiantly at him nodding hardly. Shoon smiled a little… melting their hearts like… totally! Aiko then noticed his school crest when was folding the sleeves of his shirt, “Yamashita, you’re from Seigaku High?” Shoon then nodded his head and took a sip of his drink, as if he didn’t want to talk anymore.

Ayu pondered as she sat on Aiko’s bed, “Ne~Aiko, do you think that Yamashita is a good player? When it comes to basketball?”
Aiko bit the back of her pencil and thought about it for a moment, “I’m not very sure… but I heard from Chiaki that he’s rather rough when it comes to basketball… hopefully our next match won’t be paired with his school, otherwise it’s a dead end for us.”
Ayu agreed as she nodded her head hardly, “are you going for the match tomorrow, Aiko?” she asked.
“Well…” Aiko said, she was hesitant to go for the match as it’ll be weird if they were to be spotted with the idols, “I’m not very sure… what if we were spotted by the paparazzi?” she said worriedly, “don’t forget… these are the guys that many girls adore and besides… they are wanted by the media!”

Ayu sighed and poked her twin with the back of her pencil, “Aiko~!!! Can you please stop worrying!? It’s not as if you’re dating them or anything…! I mean… we’re just… going for their match!” she exclaimed.
That was when Aiko’s cell phone vibrated… there’s a message!
Ayu snatched over the phone hurriedly and the both of them stared at the message that Takaki sent, “Please don’t forget to attend tomorrow’s match. Takaki Yuya.” Ayu read aloud.
“Aiko has an admirer~!!!!” she teased as Aiko blushed, her face turning really red.
That was when Ayu’s cell phone vibrated as well, “I’ll be looking forward to seeing you at tomorrow’s match. Arioka Daiki.” Aiko muttered, feeling disappointed all of a sudden.

It was as if she was taking a jet coaster ride… she’s really happy for a moment and really down the next. “Aiko… I’m sure he doesn’t mean anything…” Ayu tried to console her sister, she could tell that her sister really likes Arioka a lot but she just felt so helpless. “Ayu… I can tell that Arioka really likes you. Don’t worry! I won’t feel mad or anything if you two were to be together…!” Aiko said as Ayu managed an awkward smile.

Wearing their gym shorts and tee-shirts, they rushed to the match that was held at Akado High. Fans continued to plunge into the seats that were already full and clutched on tightly to the banners of their beloved idols. Murmurs filled the stadium as the doors opened, letting the afternoon light streaming in. tall dark shadows appeared as the opposition marched into the hall, keeping quiet. It was a silence that would make your enemy fear you and a stare from their eyes would make you petrified almost immediately. That was when the girls noticed… Yamashita Shoon! That means… Akado High is playing against… Seigaku High!? Fans of Yamashita screamed as squealed in delight as Yamashita continued to tap his feet, listening attentively to his MP3, totally drowned in his own world, he ignored his fans. There was a sudden uproar that shocked the girls as the idols strolled in leisurely (as usual…) looking really relaxed as compared to the players from Seigaku High. It was an all boys match so… there weren’t any girls. “Aiko-Chan…! Ayu-Chan…!” the Kojima twins heard someone screaming over the noise. Turning around, they spotted Chiaki, who managed to rush home to have a change of clothes before going for the match, “Chiaki-Chan, you’re here to support your brother?” Aiko asked curiously, “Yes! I’ll be supporting Shoon-Kun too!” Chiaki exclaimed, waving to her brother excitedly. “I can see that Yuto’s really excited that you’re here…” Ayu said laughingly.

It wasn’t long before they could see what Chiaki meant when she said that Yamashita is rather rough when it comes to basketball. He’s not committed any fouls yet but Arioka, who was bumped on the arm by him just now, was rubbing his left arm, swallowing hardly as drips of sweat dampened his jersey. “Arioka’s arm is turning red!” Aiko muttered worriedly, Aiko… Ayumu thought, concerned about her sister, how is Arioka ever going to know how you feel about him if you don’t tell him…?
Things were going smoothly for the team until… “Yuto…!” Chiaki cried as Yuto fell, being knocked down by Ayukawa Taiyo, “Yuto-Kun!” Yamada cried at the same time, rushing to the aid of his best friend.
Yuto had to be subbed in by Chinen, which was definitely a disadvantage to the team, losing one of their tallest and better players. Soon, out of the ten idols, five of them had to be subbed by other players, which equates to them being at the losing end… and they lost the match.

“It’s not fair!” Keito growled, banging his fist on the table back in the restroom of their club.
“Are you okay, Yuto?” Chiaki asked with concern as Yuto took a look at his red arm and nodded his head, “Don’t worry, Nee-Chan, I’m alright.”

Ayu then commented, “You can’t deny that Seigaku High is a really worthy opponent…” Yamada then rolled his eyes and cut in, “you’re just saying that because you were eyeing on Yamashita Shoon and Ayukawa Taiyo the whole time!”
Arioka then looked at Ayu who gaped at Yamada like a goldfish. Standing up, she yelled, “No I wasn’t!” Aiko then pulled Ayu down and muttered, “Ayu, they’re just moody at the moment…. Let them cool down first.”
Ayu then pouted and sat down, defeated. “I’m going to have a one on one match with that Ayukawa Taiyo!” Yamada yelled, barging out of the room, Ayu went after him, turning him around by the shoulders and said, “what are you doing!? The match is already over! It’s pointless to have a one on one match now!”
Yamada inhaled deeply, frustrated and very much annoyed by Ayu, he gave her a push and hollered, “it’s none of your business anyway, you idiot!” Aiko hurriedly helped her sister up, noticing that her sister was cradling her red wrist. “Yamada-Kun…!” Daiki hollered as silence filled the gap between the two groups.
“Are you alright…?” Yumi asked with concern as Ayu nodded… looking at her left wrist…

“Ayu… are you sure that you still want to play this match even when your hand is in such a state…? You might aggravate the condition…” Aiko said, worried about her twin.
“I’m really fine, Aiko! Besides, we can’t lose to Seigaku High! We have to show them who’s boss!” Ayu replied with much determination.

“Okay, guys…! Today we’re up against Seigaku High… they’re really rough… so, I want all of you here to take extra good care of yourselves today! I can’t always be looking out for you like your nanny!” Coach Jin informed them.
“Yes, nanny…” they mumbled lazily.

Looking up at the seats, they noticed that the HSJ members were there to watch the match. Aiko watched as Ayu eyed at Yamashita Shoon menacingly, “Ayu…” Aiko called out to her twin, “can you not play this match…?” she asked worriedly.
“Aiko~” Ayu smiled, trying to reassure her sister, “I’m really alright! Don’t worry! I’ll take care of myself…!”

Chapter 5

Secretly looking up at the stands where the HSJ sat, Ayu stared at Yamada for what seemed like an eternity without Yamada realizing it. “Ayu… seems to like Yamada…” Yumi whispered in a worried tone.
Before the Umpire whistled for the game to start, Yumi ran up to Ayu and asked, “Ayu…!” she called, “you… don’t like Yamada right?” she asked, still smiling at her best friend.

Ayu, shocked by the question, forced a smile and replied, trying to sound casual, “No… of course not!”
Even though she claims that she doesn’t like Yamada, Aiko had a feeling that her twin was lying. Aiko could tell from Ayu’s flustered expression that she is starting to care for Yamada, although it’s not very obvious, Ayu is really starting to like him little by little. The only reason that’s keeping her away from Yamada is now… Yumi. Pretending to tie her shoelace, Aiko overheard their conversation, “Great…! So… that means that I can ask him out right?” Yumi exclaimed excitedly, clapping her hands together and looking at Ayu hopefully.

Ayu’s eyes wavered uncomfortably at her best friend’s question and nodded, “yes… you can ask him out.”
She suddenly felt a pang of guilt as she said that and Aiko looked at her twin in bewilderment. Her sister is actually pushing Yamada Ryosuke to Yumi just because Yumi is her best friend!? What kind of logic is that!?
“Ayu…!” Aiko said, grabbing her sister by the right wrist but then before she could say anything else, there was the whistle…

At the stands, Inoo was too busy brooding over HIS matter to care about the match. What’s his matter? A girl sitting beside him kept on looking at him without batting an eyelid, “can you stop looking!?” he finally plucked the courage to ask in annoyance.
The girl shook her head, still overwhelmed by the fantasy-sight of Inoo sitting beside her. Giving up, Inoo slapped his forehead and covered his face with his hands.

As the crowd cheered for both teams… and as the girl continued to drool at Inoo Kei, both twins were out on the battlefield, giving it their all to score as much points as possible.
“Something’s wrong with the way Ayu is shooting…” Yamada realized, “could it be…?” it suddenly dawned onto him, “that her wrist got injured when I pushed her down the other day…?”
Yamada stood up agitatedly, “Yamada-Kun…?” Yuto called out to his best friend, “what’s wrong…? The match is still on… sit down.”
Pulling his best friend into his seat, Yuto reassured Yamada, “at the rate that they are going, the Kojima twins will surely guarantee a win for the team!”

“Let’s just hope that Kojima Ayu can hang on till the very last minute…” Yamada muttered worriedly, staring at Ayu…
At the same time, Arioka was staring at Yamada, guessing that something is wrong with Ayu, he whispered, “what is going on…?”

Everything was going smoothly for the girls and they were leading by ten points when all off a sudden, there was a whistle and Yamashita Shoon raised his hand to admit his foul. Looking onto the floor, Aiko noticed that the person lying down there, moaning in pain was none other than her sister! “Ayu…!” Aiko gave a loud cry of horror and went to the aid of her sister as Yumi stood beside silently, helping Ayu up.
“I can still play! I want to beat Yamashita Shoon and Ayukawa Taiyo” Ayu cried stubbornly.
Aiko, unable to bear with her sister’s stubbornness, shouted, “This is not your last match…! There are more matches to come in the future! What are you pushing yourself so hard for!?”

There was a pregnant silence between the both of them as Aiko guessed, “Is it… because of Yamada Ryosuke?”
Ayu then realized… she was… trying to take revenge for… Yamada. That’s the only reason that led her to hang on for such a long time… that’s the only reason that made her want to beat Yamashita Shoon and Ayukawa Taiyo. Aiko, seeing her twin’s determination, then decided to give it her all as well, “Coach Jin…!” she announced, “I’m still playing…!”
Ayu, shocked at her sister, tried to call her back but failed to do so as her sister reentered the court as the whistle sounded the alarm that the match was about to commence.
“What are the both of them doing!? This is no time
for a quarrel!” Ryutaro said as Arioka tried to focus his attention on Ayu and he thought worriedly, ‘what’s wrong with Ayu…?’
“What’s Aiko doing!? She’s already been playing for such a long time! She needs to rest!” Takaki said, standing up agitatedly as Hikaru pushed him back down.
Hikaru then said, “It’s their match…! Sit down, Takaki-Chan! I’m sure they know what they are doing!”

For Aiko, losing her twin meant that she has to give her 200% of effort into the match than her normal 100%. Victory seemed so near yet so far away, she must steadily keep the gap between the points… otherwise, she might let Ayu down. Panting hardly, she defended Yamashita Shoon who asked, “Don’t you ever give up?”
Aiko then panted as she realized that was perspiring just as profusely as she was, “I’m not doing it for myself…! I’m doing it for my twin as well.”

Amused by her determination, Shoon tried to cross the ball under his legs but was intercepted just in time by Aiko and he watched in amazement as Aiko made a beeline for the goal and scores. Giving Yumi a high-five, she narrowed her eyes at Yamashita as Taiyo mouthed to Yamashita Shoon, seeing that Aiko is another obstruction to their route to victory, “I got my eyes on her!”
Yamashita Shoon, knowing that Taiyo is a much tougher player than he was, rejected his help, “No!” he mouthed back, “I can handle her. You don’t have to injure so many players just for a friendly match.”
Taiyo immediately sensed that something was wrong and he thought: Shoon-Kun must’ve some kind of relationship with them. Whatever that relationship is… it had better not cost us our victory.

“Aiko…!” Yumi cried as she passed the ball over to Aiko but even before Aiko could get into her position to catch the ball that was thrown towards her, Ayukawa Taiyo dashed in front of her and intercepted the ball, at the same time, elbowing Aiko in her stomach, making her roll on the floor with agony.
Coughing, she crouched low as she heard her sister’s voice, “What in the world are you trying to do!? This is a basketball tournament! Not some kind of fight! Do that to my sister one more time and you’re dead meat!”
Grateful to her sister, she stood up and eyed viciously at Ayukawa Taiyo as Yamashita Shoon pulled her up one handedly. “Listen… I’m only telling you this because you’re Chiaki’s friend. Don’t get too close to Taiyo. He’s not a very friendly player.” Shoon whispered to Aiko in a rush.

Aiko nodded her head, understanding the situation she told Yumi, “Taiyo’s not a very friendly player. Don’t get to close to him.”
Beads of sweat clung onto Shoon’s face as he dribbled the ball cautiously, facing Aiko once more, “we’re only one point away now.” He said, “If I make this shot… we’ll win.”
Ayu prayed for a miracle to happen as she watched her beloved sister suffering helplessly in the court. There was no way any player could replace either of them. Without the two of them together, they can’t shine... without the two of them together… they lost.

Slamming the basketball at Shoon, tears stung Aiko’s eyes as the team went silent. “You’re just out to make us feel ashamed!” Aiko said with gritted teeth, “you and Ayukawa injured half of my team and now claim yourself as rightful victors!?”
Ayu went to hug her twin and whispered, “It’s alright Aiko… it’s alright… calm down…!”
Aiko wrapped her arms around her sister, burying herself deeply and sobbed, “What are you guys staring at!? Go away!” Ayu yelled protectively, dragging her sister away from the strange stares of their opponent.

After the match, Shoon waited for the twins at the court. Ayukawa Taiyo, who had been looking all over the place to Shoon, was angered when he heard that Shoon had actually wanted to apologize on behalf of himself. Ayukawa Taiyo, who’s starting to despise the twins AND Shoon, went up to Shoon, holding the collar, he said with gritted teeth, “Listen, Yamashita Shoon… we won this game far and square and I don’t have to care how other people look at me. Aren’t we best friends? You should’ve understood how badly I want to win each and every game!”
Shoon then pulled Taiyo’s hand away and explained, “but you were too much to injure half of their team… I didn’t even realize that until Aiko knocked some sense into me… we have to apologize.”
Disgusted by the sudden change of attitude, Taiyo then pushed Shoon away and said, “Fine… do what ever you think is right then.”

As Ayukawa Taiyo left, the HSJ members reentered the stadium and greeted Shoon with a nod of their heads. The suddenly awkward atmosphere left them speechless as they waited for the twins to come out. “Shoon-Kun…!” Chiaki cried, surprised that her friend was waiting for them, “were you waiting for us?” she asked, still smiling.
Hikaru’s blood boiled as he witnessed the loving sight and clenched his fists, “Hikaru-Chan… your can is getting all squashed.” Chinen said.

Hikaru was suddenly reminded of his can of drink and shocked to actually see it overflowing, making his hand all sticky! “Ugh…!” Hikaru muttered in disgust, wiping the juice onto Chinen’s shirt.

“I’m really sorry that Taiyo hurt you just now but please forgive him… it was unintentional.” Shoon apologized, swallowing hardly and hoping that the twins will accept his sincere apologies.
Ayu was about to say something when Aiko stopped her and shook her head, “Well… I hope that we can have a fair match one day… without all these violence.” Aiko replied as a form of forgiveness, clearing her throat.
Shoon smiled a little, still uncomfortable with the situation, he left first and leaving the two groups in silence as Yamada stared at Ayu. Clearing his throat, Yuto asked in a soft whisper, “Yamada-Chan… why do you keep on looking at Ayu-Chan? Everyone’s staring at you now.”

Looking around, Yamada then blushed deeply as he gave a cry of displease, “why are you guys looking at me like that!?”
“That’s because you were looking at Ayu in this manner too!” Yabu explained.
Yamada then went over to Ayu, staring at the purple color bracelet that she wore on her left hand, he took her hand into his. Ayu squirmed uncomfortably under his grasp, “what are you doing!?” she whispered fiercely, noticing the unpleasant look that Yumi had on her face.

“Don’t move!” Yamada yelled, irritated at Ayu. He then took off the wrist band that he was wearing on his wrist and pulled it over Ayu’s, “go see a doctor soon.” He said awkwardly, tucking his hands into his pockets before strolling off as Daiki looked kind of upset of the gesture that Yamada made to Ayu.

CHAP 6~

The girls were supposed to meet up those guys for practice in the guys’ school. “But… Yabu-Chan…there’s 13 of us… how are we suppose to divide into 2 groups?” Chinen asked curiously. “I’ll back out.” Aiko said, looking at Daiki longingly and hoping that he’ll say something but he didn’t.
“Alright…” Yabu then announced, clapping his hands together, “so…Dai-Chan, Yama-Chan, Yuto-Chan, Ryutaro-Chan…” he said as his voice trailed off, looking around, he continued, “Yumi-Chan and Ayu-Chan…!”
They split into their groups almost immediately. Ayu had meant to return Yamada his wristband but before she could go up to him, Yumi was dragging him to another spot. Ayu then went over to her bag and stared at Yamada longingly, “Ayu… since you really like him, why not tell him your true feelings?” Aiko asked as she searched her sister’s bag, lying that she was looking for her water bottle because she might have misplaced it.
“Aiko… Yumi… is my best friend.” Ayu explained, “I can’t do this to her.”
Aiko then took out the wristband from Ayu’s bag instead of the water bottle and questioned, “Ayu… if you didn’t like Yamada-Kun then why don’t you return this to him…?”
Ayu snatched the wristband from Aiko and brushed it, cherishing it a lot, she placed it carefully back into her bag and muttered, “I know I shouldn’t be feeling this way… but… deep in my heart… I really don’t wish to return it to him. Maybe he’ll forget all about it. Maybe he won’t even realize that it’s still with me... so that I can keep it safe.”
Aiko then took her sister’s hand and asked, “Ayu… surely there must be something that I can do to help?”
Ayu reached out to touch her twin’s ponytail and replied, “The only thing that you can help now… is to take care of yourself… don’t let how Arioka-Kun get between us, ne?”
Aiko then smiled at her beloved twin and nodded sensibly.

Hikaru, who wanted to get Chiaki’s attention, decided to fall… in slow motion. Keito then asked curiously, “Hikaru-Chan, what are you doing?”
Hikaru then explained patiently, “I’m busy falling.”
Chinen joined in the fun and asked, “What are you busy falling for?”
Hikaru narrowed his eyes at the dwarf sized Chinen and replied, “Kids shouldn’t know about these matters.”
That was when, Yabu Kota muttered beside Hikaru’s ear, “Anything that kids shouldn’t know, you can tell me all about it…”
Shocked, Hikaru stumbled over and laid a hand on his rapidly rising and falling chest, “Yabu-Chan! Why did you do that!? My heart almost jumped out!”
Yabu then had a smirk on his face and laughed, “Don’t worry…! I’m sure Chiaki-Chan will catch it for you if it does!”

“Feeling lonely…?” Takaki asked, Aiko who was sitting by the steps and looking rather lonely, passing a can of juice to her.
Aiko smiled and opened the can of juice that Takaki had offered her so generously, “Not really.” She replied.
Takaki then cleared his throat as he looked at Aiko closely, observing her every move. “What’s wrong…?” Aiko asked, covering her face uncomfortably, “Don’t look at me like that.”
Takaki coughed and looked away, smiling to himself at the sight of Aiko feeling embarrassed. Takaki tried to think of something to say, wanting to overcome the awkward silence came between them as he fiddled with his empty can, “you know… actually… it’s kind of easy to tell you twins apart now that we’ve gotten to know you guys better.”
“Really…?” Aiko asked curiously, smiling at Takaki who looked really suave under the sunlight, “how…?”
Takaki then looked thoughtful for a moment and then explained, “Well… Ayu-Chan is more protective one… she likes to protect the people that she loves and tends to take initiative to do things. As for Aiko-Chan…” his voice trailed off as he approached Aiko’s personality, leaving Aiko in suspense.

Aiko then nudged him on the shoulder anxiously, “Don’t keep me in the dark! Tell me! Hurry…!”
Laughing, Takaki then surrendered and continued, “As for Aiko-Chan… you’re more of the one being led by Ayu… you’re more detailed and you’re also very protective of the people you love… but… you tend to be more protected than being protective.”
Aiko nodded knowingly, understanding herself more through Takaki’s explanation, “so… now you’re like some kind of fortune teller…! Wait till your fans know about this! Ha! Ha!” laughing at the shocked Takaki.
“I like you.” Takaki blurted, drowning into Aiko’s laughter.
Time seemed to freeze for Aiko who sat there, petrified, “I… don’t know what are you talking about.” she replied, pretending that she wasn’t paying attention.
Takaki confessed, louder this time, “I like you.”
Aiko looked away and was about to turn around and leave when Takaki grabbed her wrist and told her his feelings, “I know that I’m an Idol and I might not be able to give you anything… and… I have a really terrible temper… but…”
“It’s not because of that, Takaki-Kun.” Aiko said, interrupting him.
Pushing his hand away, her eyes wavered as she inhaled deeply, “You’re a really great guy… you’re… you’re more than what I expect… the problem doesn’t lie with you… it’s me."
Takaki was confused by then and probed further, not wanting to give her up so easily, “What’s the problem…?”
Aiko then turned around and with her back facing him, she explained, “I already have someone else in my mind…” her voice trailing off, afraid that Takaki was going to explode any moment.
“Who is it then…?” Takaki asked, getting a bit annoyed.
“It’s… Arioka-Kun...” Aiko finally said it… her true feelings.
The two just stood there looking at each other as Takaki crushed the empty can that he held in his hands, swallowing hardly…

“Can we talk in private after this practice…?” Arioka Daiki asked Ayu, grabbing the opportunity to confess to her.
Ayu immediately sensed that something was wrong and wanted to turn down the date when she caught Yumi looking in her direction anxiously. Yumi waited nervously for Ayu’s reply, hoping that Ayu would agree. If Ayu rejects Daiki’s offer, then that would confirm her suspicions of Ayu liking Yamada. Ayu, who didn’t want Yumi to know that she likes Yamada, reluctantly accepted the date.
“Well… alright then.” Ayu stammered.
Although she has agreed, Arioka noticed that Ayu was not smiling but he decided not to jump to conclusions about that so he just nodded his head, still happy that she has agreed to his request.

“Yama-Chan…! Let’s go…!” Yuto said, hooking an arm around Yamada’s neck and pulling him away as Arioka waved good bye to them.
Aiko was about to enter the hall when she noticed that Arioka was looking at Ayu very solemnly. She was about to approach them when on second thoughts, she had a feeling that Daiki was going to confess to Ayu and hid behind the wall, hoping that neither of them had noticed her.
“I… I’m sorry for saying this so suddenly, but… I have to get this off my heart.” Daiki said then paused for a while, looking at Ayu’s reaction, “I… like you.”
Ayu stared at him blankly, blinking her eyes… she knew that this day was going to come sooner or later but she hadn’t expected it to be so soon. Unable to tell how she feels from her reaction, Daiki was anxiously staring at her. “I’m sorry…” Ayu finally answered in a soft whisper.
Daiki slowly walked away from her, “it’s okay… I… kind of expected it… I’m sorry for taking your time…” he apologized, downhearted and dejected, he ran away.
Ayu was about to go after him when she noticed a familiar back view already going after Daiki… it was Aiko.
Ayu was suddenly worried for her sister as it was pouring heavily she was about to go after them when someone held her elbow, turning around, she saw Yamada, “it’s best to leave things to Aiko if you don’t like Dai-Kun.” Yamada suggested, “I’ll send you home.” He continued, sheltering Ayu with his black jacket.

Arioka-Kun heard the sound of footsteps behind him and turned around only to find Aiko stopping at the same. “Arioka-Kun…! Please don’t be like that!” Aiko comforted him.
That was when Daiki rushed up to her and holding her tightly in his arms he cried, “I really like you, Ayu!”
Pushing him away in horror, Aiko cried, pointing at herself, “I’m Aiko! I’m not Ayu!”
Daiki then noticed the pink bracelet that Aiko wore on her left wrist and muttered a soft sorry. Then with clenched fists, he started hitting the brick wall, making his knuckles red, “Please stop it, Arioka-Kun!” Aiko said grabbing his wrists forcefully, trying to stop him, “Even if you don’t have Ayu, you still have me!”
Daiki halted just then and stared at Aiko as she stammered, “I… I… I like you…!”
Daiki looked away and tears blurred Aiko’s vision, “I’m sorry… but I don’t want to talk about this right now…” he muttered apologetically.
Suddenly mad at his attitude towards her she turned and ran away from him, wiping her tears away as she sobbed, drowning her disappointment and sorrows in the heavy downpour. Daiki looked on helplessly and watched her back view disappear in the midst.

“Aiko…!” Ayu cried when her twin came back all drenched.
Handing a towel to her beloved daughter, their mother, Kyoko, pushed Aiko into the bathroom.
Sitting by the dressing table and drying Aiko’s hair with a hair dryer, Kyoko asked her daughter with concern, “Aiko-Chan… did you quarrel with your sister…?”
Aiko, who didn’t want to talk at this moment, just looked at her feet and shook her head. Kyoko looked at her daughter’s reaction with the reflection of the mirror in front of them and asked, “Aiko-Chan… you do know that Ayu was worried about you right?”
Aiko then looked at her mother through the reflection and said, “Oka-San… I know… I love her a lot too.”
Igo then rushed in with a paper airplane in excitement and settled himself onto Aiko’s lap without even asking, “Nee-San! Nee-San! Play with me!” he cried playfully.
Aiko reached out to touch his cheeks tenderly and replied gently, “Gomen ne, Igo-Kun… Aiko Nee-San is not in the mood to play right now… go find Otto-San, alright?”
Kyoko then stared at Aiko silently and asked, “What made my beautiful daughter so upset?”
Kyoko reached out to touch her daughter’s face gently and gave her a motherly hug, “what ever it is… I hope that you twins will have a good talk with each other.” She said as she saw Ayu standing by the door waiting to come in.
Aiko stared at Ayu for a long time, lacking the courage to go up to her. Kyoko then pulled both daughters together and patted their backs gently, encouraging them to close the distance between the both of them, “have a nice talk, ne?” she said before leaving them alone in the room.

“Ayu…” Aiko stammered, her lips trembling at the thought of being pushed away by Daiki and ended up in tears even before she could complete her sentence.
Ayu took her sister into her arms and patted her back comforting her, relieved that Aiko isn’t mad at her… no matter what the reason may be. “Arioka-Kun… he… he doesn’t like me.” Aiko stammered, her body shaking from the sobs.
Finally understanding what the reason was, Ayu pulled Aiko away and told her sister, “I didn’t accept him either…”
Aiko then wiped her tears away with the back of her hands and whispered, “Why don’t you tell Yumi that you like Yamada…?”
Ayu, loss for words, then looked away and hopped into her bed, “I’m… very tired… in turning in!” she said, feeling the slight shakiness in her voice as tears burned her eyes.
