If it hasn't already been apparent to you the price of food and other necessities have become criminally over-priced and everyone now is feeling the pinch(except for the rich) what we don't know is that there really isn't a shortage, just some greedy bastards who want to make more money on top of their money castle. For those of you who only listen to the news from fox rather than reading reports from newspapers like the Worker's Vanguard or reports on the nation's food supply; our food supply is actually growing and has enough to feed everyone in the world one and a half times; then why are there still people starving you say? This is due to two reasons: one is unequal distribution and the second is the fact that the people with the power to say what is a shortage and what isn't like to make coffins full of money because they care for their fellow man like George Bush cares about human the Declaration of Independences. The first reason is fairly easy to understand, there are poor people around the world eating dirt, nothing, or CLAYYYY!!! and there are rich people eating Kobe beef, $1000 sundaes, and other stuff (hell I've had prime rib while knowing full well there are some people that can't even afford bread). the second issue is those phony big wigs that realize in between stuffing their face with money and showing off their money that people cant survive without food and that people will pay any amount to not starve to death (that might have been a little exaggerated). The point I'm trying to wrap around is that we can feed everyone in the world it's just that the money has a more appealing disposition then being the unsung hero. If you do want to help level the distribution of food try donating some canned food ( don't really think that will help) unless you find a way to put the big companies operating in Africa and Latin America out of business or to clean up their act ( i.e. trying to rip farmers off by making them pay for water pumps and dam water or trying to steal the grower's intellectual property ( like rice they've been growing for centuries)) then things will simply go they way they have been for some time... and if you are going to help out don't be like this guy.

I didn't really notice a big increase in food prices; I still can afford my food >.> so I'm not really worried. On the other hand, I like the comic strip =P

one way to help lower fuel prices would be to reduce or stop diverting food to fuel - such as ethanol production. these "gen 1" biofuels are a joke!!! most of them (like corn in the U.S.) actually requires more energy input than it outputs, plus you get lower mileage compared to straight gasoline. if you haven't shopped for your own food lately, you wouldn't notice how much food prices have been affected...
