This is something my ex-crush sent me, many years ago and i just loved it...

Don't Go Far Off

"Don't go far off, not even for a day, because --
because -- I don't know how to say it: a day is long
and I will be waiting for you, as in an empty station
when the trains are parked off somewhere else, asleep.

Don't leave me, even for an hour, because
then the little drops of anguish will all run together,
the smoke that roams looking for a home will drift
into me, choking my lost heart.

Oh, may your silhouette never dissolve on the beach;
may your eyelids never flutter into the empty distance.
Don't leave me for a second, my dearest,

because in that moment you'll have gone so far
I'll wander mazily over all the earth, asking,
Will you come back? Will you leave me here, dying?"

Sonnet 130 by William Shakespeare

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damask'd, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground:
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.

It's not exactly a poem but I think it's beautiful, amazing and about love.

Strange infatuation seems to grace the evening tide.
I'll take it by your side.
Instant correlation sucks and breeds a pack of lies.
I'll take it by your side.
Oversaturation curls the skin and tans the hide.
I'll take it by your side.

Tick Tock.

I'm unclean, a libertine
And every time you vent your spleen,
I seem to lose the power of speech,
Your slipping slowly from my reach.
You grow me like an evergreen,
You never see the lonely me at all

I..take the plan spin it sideways.
I..Fall..

Without you, I'm nothing.
Take the plan, spin it sideways.
Without you, I'm nothing at all.

Placebo - Without you I'm nothing

This is another song by them that also means a lot to me.

I'll be your water bathing you clean
The liquid peace
I'll be your ether you'll breathe me in
You won't release
Well I've seen you suffer, I've seen you cry the whole night through
So I'll be your water bathing you clean
Liquid blue

I'll be your father, I'll be your mother,
I'll be your lover, I'll be yours

I'll be your liqour bathing your soul
Juice that's pure
And I'll be your anchor you'll never leave
Shores that are pure
Well I've seen you suffer, I've seen you cry for days and days
So I'll be your liqour demons will drown
And float away

I'll be your father, I'll be your mother,
I'll be your lover, I'll be yours
Yours...

Placebo - I'll be yours

A love poem yes but also about dedicated yourself to someone completely and helping them overcome their demons. Let me know what you think.

This poem is from the end of the 1st chapter of my Kanon fanfic. It's short and sweet I'd like to say.

----

True happiness is hard to find

Once you find it never let go

Like myself I have never found someone so kind

----

I never want to break this kiss

Stay with me in this never-ending bliss

----

You are my love

You are my life

You are my all

----

You have been with me always

I cannot thank you enough

I want to spend with you the rest of my days

----

You are the only one who saved me from this pain

You helped me so I could finally feel again

----

You are my one and only

----

I love you so much

Please carry me away

I want to feel your touch

----

I just know deep in my heart…

We’ll be together forever…and ever…

Just as we were at the very start.

Laugh at my bad poetry. :D

For a boy who, no, I don't stalk, he is a good friend.

FLUIDITY

My love for you is as fluid as water.

At times it is a dripping, like leaking through the crack in a dam--
little, but persisten, only a hint.

Sometimes it is a comfortable, peaceful gurgling of a
healthy stream over rocks. Beautiful music.
Relaxing.

But there are the times when it roars like a waterfall
and beats me over the head like I were some kind of monk
or something.

These times, it is hard for me to hold it in--
maybe you notice.
It's in the way that I look at you, mostly.
Sometimes in the way that I desperately try to share myself:
Movies, Mix CDs, poorly-contrived fiction.

Didn't you think that was a confession,
a sad cry for help?
I still hope you liked it.

There are other times when the waterfall is roaring
And I go out of my way to touch you--
I brush against you, bump into you, but I am afraid to grab and hold on,
what if my grip is too slippery?
Then you'll be gone and so will the water.

---

And also, inspired by a piece of writing on the graffiti wall at Duke and a perfectly good-looking stranger.

IMAGINATION

The cornucopia of your left ear
spills out like overflowing,
like fruit all over the table at Thanksgiving.
All the words I whisper there
echo back at me like out of the Grand Canyon.

Is your head that empty?
So empty that it echoes?

Or maybe not; you change, your nature
is transformed into something new
and you whisper back sweet words
Dripping like sunshine from your mouth.
The grass smells like home in the field where we meet, embrace, cuddle, picnic.
Do you like turkey? I might ask
and you'd nod and smile and take the
sandwich with a napkin. But the napkin doesn't help--
There are crumbs, there--
On the corner of your lips, so I kiss them away.
You leave. Don't go, I say--
But you dissolve into my mind like a hallucinogenic
and the bus rolls past your stop without pause
and you'll never love me, despite your good taste,
because you're just the guy at the bus stop wearing the Sufjan Stevens t-shirt.

----

...I'm not emo. I swear. There's no blood or dying or death or hate anywhere!

SeraphAlford wrote:

Edgar Allan Poe is my favorite poet... Here is my favorite of his:

Annabel Lee

It was many a year ago, in a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my ANNABEL LEE;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me

And this was the reason that, long ago,
IN this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful ANNABEL LEE;
So that her high-born kinsman came
And bore her away from me
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me-
Yes!- That was the reason (as all men know, in this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my ANNABEL LEE.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither angles in heaven above,
Nor demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful ANNABEL LEE.

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful ANNABEL LEE;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling-my darling-my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea
In her tomb by the sounding sea…

Also, I recommend Emily Dickinson. Her poems are deceptively simple, but if you let them sitn and have a flare for the more profound side of words, then you will find them quite thought provoking. She’s my second favorite poet, and has a lot of poems about love…

You know.. I wish my lawn were Emo. Then it would cut itself! :p Jk, of course.

And, if your wondering why Annabel Lee is in caps so many times… I have no clue. I just copied it from a book, which was a pain by the way! So I hope your happy! :p, jk again.

Hopchow.. I love you for posting that poem! I haven’t read it in a loong time!

Last thing: Incase you are wondering, a seraph is an arch angle. They are described in the bible as having sixs wings. They apparently use one set to hide their feet, another set to hide their faces, and another set to fly. And a sepulchre is a term used in the U.K (I think...) Here in America we say sepulcher. They're the same thing. Its pretty much a burial vault... Something like that.

hey that poem is known in philippines!!
i have a copy of it in our tatsulok magazine in our filipino subject!
but it was tagalog!

this was taken from a song.... "movie" by spongecola

Forever shall I be the ill-fated type
Forever must I be the one you confide to
Forever must I be the pages you need
For you to write all your secrets that you hope I would keep

Forever must I drive you home late at night
After watching these films that seem to imitate life
Forever must I be the opinion you seek and
Forever will I be the friend that you would keep

I will just think of something random... love...

my love for you...

My love for you,
Is like the stationary sky...
Of crystallized spears-
Thrusting down...
Upon your sparkle,
Reality

Beautiful Angel
by Ashley Alayne Miller

You are to me
All that an angel could be
My love for you
Is here for all the world to see

The gleam in your eyes
Is what keeps me alive
You are the vision of beauty
I see in front of me
The minor sound of your sweet voice
Is enough to make my heart rejoice

You're an Angel to me
The most beautiful person
This world shall ever see

A special place in my heart
I shall forever have for thee
You are my love
You are my world
You are this Beautiful Angel to me...

This one is made by my friend. She's great.^_^

[1] I would hate to say it,
but our friendship just can’t last.
The wonderful times we shared together,
have faded to the past.

[2] I told you it would happen,
that our friendship was bound to end.
Although I knew you care,
I cannot consider you as a friend.

[3] Please don’t try to argue,
just try to understand,
That time can change people,
as tide can change the sand.

[4] Our friendship has been lovely,
But you see, it has an end,
Foe now I fell in a different way,
I’ve fallen in love with you my friend.

[5] Now that you notice me,
Our eyes lock everyday
But fear of being rejected,
is keeping me away.

[6] I feel I have a burning desire
Way down deep
I wish we had a love to share
A love to save and keep

[7] I want to be together now
Going with the flow
And sometimes, I wonder how
We can make it go

[8] You’re the one, I’d give the sun
Even the old pale moon
If only for a second
We’d be together soon.

Life feels as though its drifting away, your thoughts become scattered
You forget everything you once knew as if it never even mattered
Your emotion is blurred, you don’t know if it's happiness or fear
But as the sound fades away, everything begins to become clear
Your vision, unclouded, and your mind breaks from the trance
As you feel yourself slipping back into reality, you ask her for one more dance
