I watch one of the KIKU subtitled episodes once in a while on YouTube.

What're your guys' favorite episodes so far? My favorite I've seen on Adult Swim is the sausage episode, not just for the gags, but because I could relate to it. I remember when I was a little kid I used to ask my mom to buy me food just because of some stupid gimmick. My mom kept asking if it was okay because she thought I wouldn't like it, but I was stubborn and went along with the gimmick anyway. And I usually didn't like the food after only a few bites. The only experience I remember like that was the Super Mario Mac 'n Cheese. It's feelings like that that the show can evoke that make it genius.

I also like the episodes where Shin-Chan breaks a melon and plays with a massager, but those episodes haven't been dubbed for Adult Swim. If anyone likes I can post links for them.

If we can't get this movie uploaded here I can post links to it too.

I've seen clips of the tagalog dub. the voice actor for Shinnosuke is really cool.

My first meeting with Shin-Chan was a couple of years ago. Back then this company called Comics One released a few volumes of the manga (it didn't sell well, so I don't think it got past 10 books), and my friend was a big fan of them. He owns all the volumes that were released in English, and one day when he was telling me about it it was a day I was sleeping over at his house. While he was reading one Shin-Chan book and laughing I asked if I could read volume 1.

I could see why he liked it so much. This little innocent kid just couldn't stop being annoying. These adults just handle how this little boy was asking so many unncecessary questions, and his parents couldn't keep him away when they were trying to have sex. I can't remember any of the jokes, but there were so many little things that were so clever.

Most of all, I could relate to it. I remember being annoying as a kid because I just wanted to have fun. But I've only really gotten into it recently because the show is making its American debut soon. I'm thinking about buying the DVDs when they come out and I really hope they come out with the movies too. Like I said before, I'm trying to upload one but I'm having trouble (I hope it's just my fault and not the file itself), so if anyone can help I'm still asking them to come forward.

Hey, how exactly is Shin-Chan in the Philippines? What effect has it had there?

Wait, what are you looking forward to?

So I take it "Crayon Shin-Chan" is popular in the Philippines. What I mean is how did if effec the pop-culture? I also heard the tagalog voice-actor for Shin looks just like him.

Okay people, I tried a couple of times today, but this "Shin-Chan" movie I download won't encode on crunchyroll. I don't know if it's just one of those rare "won't encode" cases (it is a somewhat old torrent file that I don't think is downloaded very often) or if it's my fault, but I really want to get this movie up here. If anyone wants to download it and upload it themselves or try to help me get this figured out if there really is something wrong, please go ahead. In the meantime:

Download "The Adult Empire Strikes Back":

I watched the anime a couple of times but I could not stand the malay dubbed version. I enjoy reading the manga though, made me laugh until I accidentally hit my head on the table next to my bed. Every character is so unique, weird and funny. Misae and Himawari who loves jewels, sales, hot guys...Nohara with his stinky socks, Nene and her mother punching bunnies, Buri Buri Zaemon...Also funny when popular singers/actors were inserted in the manga such as Ayumi Hamasaki, Norika Fujiwara, Naohito Fujiki, Aya Ueto, Johnny's, Ken Hirai...Anyways..I love Shin Chan!

I started reading the manga when I was in fifth grade. In fact, I consider it as one of my top three manga. The drawings don't look as good when it is in anime form. What happened to the English version of the manga by the way? You don't see it in bookstores anymore. That's quite unfortunate. Anyone else have read the manga?

Personally, I thought the jokes didn't seem as funny in English. Although I read/watched in Korean, I'm sure the translation is more likely to be accurate compared to it becoming English.

Why do they call Action Mask Action Bastard?
Why does Shin Chan refer to his school as the "Crappy American School?" He never said that in the Korean version.
I hate how they changed the celebrities mentioned. Although I can see how that may be necessary.

First off, you don't see it in bookstores (I assume you're referring to American bookstores) anymore because it didn't sell well enough. It's unfortunate mostly for my friend who bought all the volumes that were released in English, but it was unfortunate for me too 'cause I like it as well and enjoyed reading the manga at his house.

Also, the changes they made for the American version of the anime were to appeal more to the adult audience. This show would definitely not work with children in this country because of the culture and censorship standards, so they had to re-adapt it without editing and censoring it to pieces. I'll still buy the DVDs because it has the Japaneseversion with subtitles, which I prefer over the dub. But I still think they're both funny.

By the way, has anyone watched the "Shin-Chan" movie I posted here? If so, let me know what you thought of it.
