I got just one piece of advice for you. Make sure you take all the tests you need to take to get into the university you want to get into. I was a solid 3.8 student through high school with a 4.2 from fresh to junior. Took the SATs cold and got a 1480, but I didn't get into the Berkley or LA because my counselor didn't tell me to take the SAT 2s.

Oh and IMO studying for the SATs depends on how you study during high school. I didn't study at all and I did well, but I always wondered if I could do better if I took that Kaplan stuff or took prep classes. If you really feel like studying then just study. Do whats comfortable for you.

i'm not sure if they were just practice or something, but they've done SAT related stuff. hahah.

My parents - well, my mother and Grandma - want me to go to an Ivy. The required SAT scores are from about 680 to 800. I'm in the range, but only the lower bits, so I really have to study now. (I got my current scores just by showing up at the exam.) So . . . I'm aiming for four hours total on weekends, maybe another two or three during the week.

heh... I'm supposed to take mine in 2 weeks ¬_¬;;
I'm totally unprepared ¯\(°3°)/¯ but I'm gonna take it more than once, definitely...
this one's just a trial run, y'know... since it's my first...

^^it's the standardized test here in America, but the SAT is mostly english/math stuff while ACT is like... math and science..? I dunno ¯\(o_°)/¯ I'm not sure if I'm supposed to take the ACT or not

To be honest, you can't really study for any standardized test. The best you can do for those types of test is get a generalized idea of the question format. But at your age, what are you doing thinking about those demented tests?

take a few practice tests and relax. i don't know how smart you are but a 33 is pretty high. the worst thing you could do is over stress for this test. besides, if you want to be a doctor, just keep working hard in all your subjects and they'll come together.i just got a 29 but i still got into one of the best schools in my state. your career is more dependent on your work input and natural ability then your testing scores.

I'm 14 and I'm taking both SAT and ACT. I take practice tests for about 3 hours or so, then I review them. I do like four tests each free day.

I got a 31 the first time I took the ACT, I didn't study a single hour in preparation. I think if you keep with your school curriculum you should be alright, it's mostly just time management thing. I took it again at the next session without studying additionally and was able to get a 33 composite. The first time I ran out of time on the math, and ended up missing 6 questions which really hurts. When you are aiming for the top percentile on the ACT, everything above a 30 becomes exponentially harder, each question holds more weight. I don't remember what percentile I was when I got the 33, but for the 31, it was around the 93-95th. I would recommend taking it twice, learning how the test works and what works best for you, then then take it again and have a strategy for finishing as efficiently as possible.

SAT stands for Scholastic Aptitude Test, or Scholastic Assessment Test, and the ACT is American College Test(IIRC).
