(1) Chopper taught him how to understand animal language. (2) He don't understand what the animals really say, but he can "feel" what they are trying to say. (3) HAKI can somehow make Luffy communicate with animals using the "aura". (4) He purely just guessed right.

Luffy ate a Devils Fruit before the episode begins and there's only one person who ate 3 devil's fruit but eating 2 devil fruit would be fatal they will expolde or something
