1) yes

2) I have been influenced by some video games, but not the violence specifically. No I suppose.

3) ~

4) In the games I've played, violence has usually been shown as unfortunate but necessary.

5) That depends on the character (and often the point in the plot to which you're referring - there are a lot of "seeing the light" moments or instances of the character being used for someone else's goals).

6) I think this is possible if that person is very easy to manipulate and has not already been taught how to function properly among other people (or for some reason does not have the ability to do so, as with certain mental illnesses). Even so, I think that that is unlikely to happen.

7) no

LMAO. I don't care what ancient art that is, those guys are definetely sterile.

I know my friend linked it to me and I was like "WTF DID THEY TRADE THERE SACK FOR ROCKS?!?!!"

Yeah, who would even think of something like that? Martial arts for your balls.

actually they r just trained to ignore the pain of the balls. People who r either stoned/phyco or high can do the same thing.
the training is actually meant to protect the balls. so when u fight someone who likes to hit u in the nuts, after a few times they will realise its pointless, and your balls r safe from attack for the rest of the fight....peace over war

i personally like this topic and how u lay out the quesions so percisely and accurate.

1.depends on how u define violent. the only game i ever played was pac man.
and i thought it was violent how he ate all the other things...

2.yes, do onto others b4 they do unto you

3.yes, i always try to kill/ate people who get in my way.

4.some violence was showed as meaningless and boring, but over all it was good, u have to kill or be killed.

5.i consider killing and criminal/theft to be good values. If there were no criminals, the cops would be out of the job. then they would be jobless...and the cycle continues...i think pac man was the villian in all that though. everyone else seemed to mind thier own business...until he ate them...

6.it causes all gamers to be aggressive. it also depends on the game. games like GTA cause people do use violence to do good things.games like pac man cause people to do meaning less violence that only benefits selfish needs.

7.i dont think playing video games is bad at all...wuts wrong with violent tv/anime/films/games? arent they the only fun ones?and whats wrong with being violent? as long as u blame someone/something else for your actions, you will be ok.(it works in America)

i think these r great quesions that cover a multitute of topics. they r not lame at all. peace over war

1 - its not a game without some sort of violence :D
2 - ask me that again -__- i dare you *cracks knuckles*
3 - *grabs bat*
4 - it solved my problems, but you know arch feinds dont want to have a cup of tea n talk about it
5 - good for the whole world, bad for the enemies
6 - i dont think 12 year olds can obtain the power to shoot fireballs from his hands or the athletic capabilities to perform ninja skills
7 - hell no theres way worse shit on the internets theres even porn! can you believe that!! :o

games have ratings for a reason its the parents fault for allowing 6 year olds to play grand theft auto

1.Have you EVER played a violent game?(most likely to be yes)
DEFINATELY YES, haha. almost all m 360 games are M XD

2.If yes, has this influence the kind of person you are?
Not at all. Plus, kids now are becoming more mature in that they are getting more used to violence and sexual stuff earlier then we were when we did. VIdeogames are not the reason for that, life is the reason for that, video games just do what they always do.

3.If yes, then how?
Answer was no

4.Did you feel that the game(s) showed violence as good or bad?
Most games dont show violence as good or bad, its just the way the player gets through the game.

5.Was the role (of the character) to uphold good vaules or play a violent/killing or criminal/theft role?
Mostly they were upholding good values, but a lot of the time they were just doing what they did because it was who they were.

6.Do you think that playing violent games can cause young gamers to be aggressive themselves?Yes or No?
No. If parents are worried that their kids are getting more violent, then sure, take away violent games, BUT also take away TV, radio, movies, news, etc, because that is what the majority of violence comes from and that is what tells the kids "its oaky to be violent because look at how many other people are violent".

7.Do you think that playing violent games is any WORSE than watching violent TV, Anime or films?
Okay, i said it in my previous answer, but no, its not any worse. look at most of the violent video games, does it show a kid sitting in their living room and suddenly gets violent? no, it shows some soldier in the military in the future or a alternate world with sci fi weapons and armor and aliens or zombie enemies, or huge bulky fighters shooting fire balls from their fists and then slamming their opponent into the ground.

1.Yeah, Halo ftw

2.Yes,

3.Im xbox obsessed now

4.Hmmm, kinda showed it as what was necesarry to get the job done

5.Good values, killing aliens to save the whole human race, although some people kill marines -_-, i hate that. I protect my marines at all costs
6.Yes, i spend all day with em, if they get it too early, they turn into little swearing machines

7.Depends, it is definitly worse for kids, especially if on live. Probably is in general because tv is just passive, while in games you are the one killing.
Kids under 16 basically should not be playing violent games, for their and our sake. Especially if their voice is high pitched, which increases the chance theyll get told to stfu, and they learn more swear words, although once at a mature age (not necesarrily 18) u shouldnt have to worry bout going on violent games

1 Yes.Cant denied it!
2 Not really.
3 For my experience,it drives the player become role models especially for the young ones.
4 Both.I cant tell you why.
5 Both.Depends on the gameplay.
6 Of course. They behave like a savage & perform the game stunts.Im sure you ve heard the mortal kombat incident in US.
7 Wooh!Yes,because you are a gamer. You can do whatever you like on the games. Not like on TV.You just only can watch.

P/S:Are you a researcher,anti-violence game suppoter or journalist?

Sort of, I'm a game journalist,A gamer "who is more than just a gamer" and a game critic/reviewer.I'm not actually an anti-violence game suppoter nor a supporter of violent games. Another user -Somewhere in this forum- asked me a similiar question to this( in a negative way <_<) .

1.Have you EVER played a violent game?(most likely to be yes)
Yes
2.If yes, has this influence the kind of person you are?
Yes
3.If yes, then how?
It has made me become more jaded towards violence; made partaking in violence less of an interesting concept.
4.Did you feel that the game(s) showed violence as good or bad?
Good. Exposing more people to the extremes of life makes people less eccentric to the world around them.
5.Was the role (of the character) to uphold good values or play a violent/killing or criminal/theft role?
All.
6.Do you think that playing violent games can cause young gamers to be aggressive themselves?Yes or No?
Everyone's different. But from my experience, the more you expose a younger child to, the more stable they become when they're older. I find taking away extreme experiences is a far far more damaging thing to do.
7.Do you think that playing violent games is any WORSE than watching violent TV, Anime or films?
No. But the older generation didn't grow up with graphic and violent games, thus it seems a much more extreme concept today because of their eccentricities. Next it'll be THIS generation talking about our kids playing violent Virtual Reality games.
