How is that an insult when Chinese people say so themselves, many people in Mainland China are proud to say that they eat a large variety of animals, you're the only one being upset over such a trivial thing. There are far more than 1% of people in China who eat cats and dogs, get over it.

If you guys actually new more first hand stuff, maybe you wouldnt be so quick to judge. And for the record, a lot of asian countries eat cats and dogs. The french eat canned horse meat and snails. Certain tribes in Africa eat grasshoppers, And some parts of India eat bats in soup. They are considered delicacies. Maybe for some people its gross, but for people who grew up eating it as part of their culture, its normal. A country's menu is completely irrelevant to its people's mentality or a nation's political policies.
