Not happening China while full of resources owes much of it's current development to the U.S. While the poverty line has risen the force behind said movement has been American. So don't bite the hand that feeds you. China now is in an industrial area and may stand to become a worldwide provider of resources, however the technological advancements of said country are far behind those of the other superpowers and especially the U.S. China is a great place but surpassing the U.S? Don't hold your breath...Change is upon us, in the next year you'll see a renewed United States Of America....

hey u can say the same about US that america own much of it's developments to china or asian countries and u have to put in the fact that china have the upper hand since america owe china so much debt like around a couple trillions

Is this some racist shit that bash about China and Chineses? If you want to discuss about China, put the Cons AND the Pros, not one sided Cons bashing.

it's not one sided it's simply put one of many things you could mention about china. whether it be good,or bad it's worth mentioning. besides, having a one child per family law is a good idea. other nations should introduce such a law.

yep not to mention certain groups of ppl have mad kids and feed of welfare checks cause the more kids more money

Actually, several eastern countries excel in cutting edge technologies as well. Examples include Taiwan (semiconductor and computer industries pwns, and also has an advanced electronic sector), Japan (electronics in general and cars), South Korea (cellphones), Singapore (ownage economy)...so yeah, not all eastern countries are primitive cave-dwellers or human-eating savages, just to let you know

wat u talking about taiwan is china they get help from US a lot so i don't think they can do so good by them self and just casue u don't know about china's technology don't mean they don't have any china's not the kind of country that like to show off to the world like the US

which is really kiling
because i have SO much to say about china. (i live in hong kong btw).

but i would say this. everything that is happening in china nowadays - the poverty, the terrible human rights is NOT the chinese people's fault. it's our government.. and although most mainland chinese people have bad manners, don't blame them. blame the people who deprived them of their education.
chinese people DO have decency. or rather... chinese people DID have decency.

it sickens me sometimes hearing the US and Britain talk about 'human rights' in china, and all these crazy people doing things to stop the beijing olympics:
1) if you're so against the olympics held in beijing, why was nothing said before the dai lai lama came out to cause all this raucus? i didn't hear anything complain a while back when it was first announced. and don't lie by saying no one knew about the human rights issue in china. don't lie about not knowing about tibet. everyone knew. so if no one complained then when something COULD be done to change the decision, if no one protested then when it was first decided, DON'T PROTEST NOW!. geez. i know it's so 'cool' to seem like you're so liberal and into human rights but THINK. don't just join every single human rights campaign or 'lets all fight against evil government etc' group cos it makes you sound good.
2) the BRITISH people weren't exactly all 'human rights' before. the reason why south east asia is so poor and deprived now? western countries invaded us before (if people can still remember), and treated asians like slaves. they took over us and used us for their own economic interests. China was torn apart by foreign dominance. i don't know what that is called, but it SOUNDS like it wasn't exactly a UN agreed thing.
3) tibet WAS part of china. it was ever since the SUNG dynasty. okay we know that the china invaded tibet at the time, but EVER since then it was part of us. okay? that's the same as australia being an independent country before england decided to use it as its own little prison. and now? sure australia is a separate country, but its made up of english people. the indigenous? forgotten and segregated.

i agree with u so much it's all the foreign ppl coming to asian fucking things up. tho chinese government is very strict and censored also ur profilel said new york lol hong kong?

i dont really think its up to you to decide whether a british or american person is genuine when they campaign or protest. unless of course you're god and can see into the minds of others. also, you dont know how many of these people have protested continuously about the situation and how many havent. OF COURSE if the torch is being paraded through their capital city those people are going to show up and demonstrate. youre almost blaming them for what makes the news and when. i personally have campaigned for human rights steadily since my teens, so i find your remarks a bit presumptuous and insulting.

also, the british people on the whole are totally aware of our colonial past. but that doesnt mean we should sit back and say "oh go kill yourselves and your citizens. we wont care or help you or say anything about it".
seems we are damned it we do and damned if we dont.

you want to sit there and defend the chinese people because its all the fault of their government? well then how about you extend the same courtesy to the british people who didnt decide to invade other countries. Our government did. if the arguments good enough for you then its good enough for us. blaming the british people for colonialism, when none of us were alive when it happened, is the same as believing in original sin. i personally didnt invade another country or chuck an apple at adam from the tree of knowledge.

yes britain did some shit things in china. but china was corrupt before then. and britain was not to blame for the cultural revolution either.
also, you dont need to tell the british not to blame the chinese people for the chinese government, because we dont.

if youve been watching the news by the way, the dalai llama has been telling people NOT to protest and that the games should go on as the chinese people deserve to have the games. he also isnt asking for tibet to be freed. which the majority of regular campaigners know. mind you, depends what news you're allowed to get doesnt it.

I hate it when people take sides and start spreading shit without considering all the facts or bother looking up the details before commenting.

Such as saying communism is all bad because they are brought up as capitalist without knowing a thing about communism or what it stands for.

The whole thing about tibet and the Olympics is out of control. pisses me off when people comment on what they don't understand.
