Space Elevator History...thingy. For those that doesn't even have an idea.

~I'm so disappointed in life. >w<

A consortium of scientists and industrial firms has formulated a plan to build a 'space elevator' that would dramatically lower the cost of getting into orbit.

The Japan Space Elevator Association has published plans for the structure, which it estimates could be put in place for as little as $9bn.

The group believes that the project would revolutionise the cost of satellite communications systems, and make orbital manufacture economically feasible.

"Just like travelling abroad, anyone will be able to ride the elevator into space," Shuichi Ono.

I think that it's not such a bad idea after all; I mean, they're going to outer space to do some garbage thingy, which will cost about a sub-total of $9 Billion. ($9,000,000,000.00) /sarcasm

Funny thing is, they're using the Elevator for Garbage purposes.

if its just for that, they're really arent thinking of the consequences lol, that nuclear waste or garbage will probably end up passing around earth hundreds of years later, and that nuclear waste would hit a country, they should re-think that lol

and to think that they'll be wasting $9 Billion for this???
That elevator is near the damned Earth Atmosphere. So which means that if you throw garbage and such, the chance of it falling down to Earth will be up to a minimum of 60%.
They're scientists and researchers, yet they didn't knew the consequences? Ignorant....

exactly! XDD just like shooting stars that come every what 4,7, and 50 years? they always come back.... just like if you throw nuclear waste, 50 years later, the waste comes flying back! XD

and with that said, I'm now more interested in this one.
I would love to see a huge pile of dirt, falling down to Earth from space like a nutty asteroid. >:D
