The Wikipedia definition this post starts with sucks. It says that he was close to Nagi, but at the same time that he left because she annoyed her. One thing doesn't match the other one.
I suppose the reason for the mask in the anime is because he still doesn't have a face in the manga.

Actually, he had saved Nagi and Hayate quite a few times...

Maybe he IS close to Nagi... In the manga, Wataru once mentioned that Himegami ran away because Nagi did something horrible to him... It happened at the part where Nagi sold Hayate to Isumi. But it was cut in the anime version. =D

I think they are prolonging his appearance in the manga, i've seen the raw of the latest volume and no news about Himegami yet....

And his face had alreaby been revealed in the anime btw.

I think he's interested in Hayate's super butler qualities... O__olll But i don't really know since i can't understand Japanese much and I've only seen the raws up to episode 39...

Damn I only saw subbed, so I had no idea. Anyway, I would still be careful about wikipedia's anime explanations. By the way, does he teach Hayate something about Ultimates? Because in the anime he's taking a really long time to achieve one.

Read the manga at onemanga.com and you will know how will Hayate learn an Ultimate move. Not telling you that it is at the end of volume 6

Already in Volume 7, chapter 1. But I want to see if the one in the anime will be like the one in the manga. On the first opening you can see Hayate performing the (**SPOILER**)Hayate no Gotoku(**SPOILER**) against 3 huge robots, but since the end of the "first season", the manga and the anime have taken very separate ways

I remember in episode 40, it's retreating back to the plot of the manga(where Nagi takes Hayate to the sea and a bike)... Since it has been decided that Hayate no Gotoku will end at episode 52, so it's no wonder why they are rushing the 'league of dark butlers/himegami arc... =D

maybe Hayate no gotoku (anime) will end without any explanations, and we have to read the manga to follow the real end?

Yeah, that is right.... especially with the harem and so many girls like Hayate. XDDD maybe he won't have the time to choose and end like that.

technically, he's been in every episode's opening theme.... so it's not like he's not getting any air time!

Maybe he'll come out later on, I mean Hayate hasnt learned any ultimate moves so he'll probably learn one from Himegami? or maybe he is part of the evil buttlers Hayate has fought off so far?

Himegami was weird in episode 38. that mask he wears was just like the Mask of Truth in Zelda. I wonder what his true purpose was?
