What shows have you seen and what are your favorites?

Have you ever been apart of one?

I've seen Rent on tour, Wicked in New York, and too many high school shows.
Can't say I have one favorite some are, Wicked, Rent, state thespian show of Violet, and when my high school did Once Upon A Mattress

I've done tech in every show at my high school while I was there.

Oh! what a great topic =D!

I love musicals! On stage I've only seen two shows (from the audience) but they were great. I saw Phantom of the Opera in London when I went to Europe on vacation, and Miss Saigon in St. Louis, Missouri.

I've seen a lot of musical to movie adaptions though, Hello, Dolly, Funny Girl, The Fantastiks, Paint Your Wagon, Annie, Rent, Phantom of the Opera, My Fair Lady, The Music Man, 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, The Sound of Music, Oklahoma!, The King and I, Fiddler on the Roof, Chicago, Throughly Modern Millie, Grease, South Pacific, and probably more I can't think of.

I also do stage crew (building/painting sets and moving set pieces during the show) for a lot of high school musicals in my area and those shows are, The Music Man, Seussical, Beauty and the Beast (my favorite show I've worked on so far), 42nd Street, West Side Story, Throughly Modern Millie, and my last show while I'm in high school is going to be Big.

I was really excited about theatre when I was told it was loaded with lesbians.

Then I found out they meant thespians and my enthusiasm diminished somewhat.

Seriously though, I've always enjoyed shakespeare (and got to see a nice production of Othello). My sister was into drama in high school so I saw the stuff she was in quite a bit which was always entertaining. I saw Phantom of the Opera off broadway as well. I enjoyed it quite a bit and it's probably the only musical by Andrew Loyd Weber I actually liked (I detested cats - actually Evita was pretty good too come to think of it). I saw "Ludwig II" in Fussen, Germany a musical (though very much like an opera) based on the infamous mad king. Quite enjoyable even if it was all in german. Musicals are real hit and miss with me.

I'd love to see some Opera live. I watch it on DVD occasionally, and listen to it on CD a lot. One of these days....

yeah, yeah Phantom of the Opera.. I want to see that one :P...

dnno if I can remember anything else, but they are pretty cool. My school puts up plays year round, that are written by other students who partake in these great events. They're good, real good.

I played as a street kid in Annie when I was 6 years old. Can't remember much except singing the "Tomorrow" theme with the cast.

I love the music of Phantom of the Opera, but I don't like the movie version of it. The guy who played the Phantom pales in comparison to Michael Crawford.

I haven't seen much but i intend to when i go to uni and live in a bigger city with more and better theatres ^-^

Plays - Equus and Dr Faustus
Musicals - Cats
Opera - none :(

Wow a depressing list! I study alot of plays in my english lit course but they are odd ones that you can never find productions of! I saw the two plays because i'm taking an exam in them. Dr Faustus was well known to be terrible! They tried to modernise it with topical jokes and strange props- but it looked like a tacky show you would see at a beach resort . Equus was good! Although the main character, who does some worrying things with a horse, was played by Daniel Radcliff- it didn't ruin it. They stuck to the original Stoppard ideas for the stage and props and the actors (apart from the woman playing Hesther) were very natural ^-^.
I only recently saw Cats- it was ok. I tend to get irritated by musicals! The costumes and dance routines were amzing and is was all perfectly choreographed! The woman playing the old glamour cat had an amazing voice!
I'm not sure what i want to see in the future but i'm determined to see some Shakespeare that isn't done by my little brother and co! Oh and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead! ^-^ I can never find a production of that though!

I have been in a number of musicals, and enjoy them quite a lot.
Some of my favorite musicals include:

Jesus Christ Superstar
Phantom of the Opera
The Rocky Horror Show
Sweeney Todd
The King and I
Bat Boy: the Musical
Urinetown: the Musical

I was a cast member in local productions of both Bat Boy and Urinetown. If you've never seen it, Bat Boy: the Musical is about the well-known weekly world news character, a young boy who is half-bat, half-human. The show's music simultaneously parodies and pays homage to both classical musical theatre and classic rock. It's like Lloyd Weber on an acid trip while watching a soft-core porno and listeneng to Styx with one ear and Rogers and Hammerstein with the other. Oh, and there's lots of fake blood.

I enjoy opera, though I don\'t like most italian opera (some Puccini being the exception). My favorite opera is Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss. I also like Wagner quite a lot.
I have a decent collection of opera on vinyl, but very few CDs (mostly because opera tends to be rather expensive).

I like Shakespeare, but have only ever performed in one of his plays (Twelfth Night--I was the "Sea Captain"). My favorite Shakespeare play is The Merchant of Venice ("I would not have traded that ring for a whole treeful of monkeys!").

Ugh I forgot, I've seen The Rocky Horror Picture show. I was so disappointed when I finally saw the movie version because a friend of mine had hyped it up so much. I think that a stage version might be more enjoyable though because I've heard the audience gets really into it with costumes and such. Other than that though I thought it was pretty bad though, with the exception of the song "Damn it, Janet!" XD
