The only good dub i can recall having seen is the Dragonball series no others.

Is that so? Then why is Saiyan or saiya-jin (sai-yan) prounced as "say-ing"? Why are some lines re-done or re-scripted with lame dated ones? Why does Frezia sound too much like a woman and given the infamous "whatever turns you on, big guy"?

Why was DBGT (which I did not enjoy at all) given a rap theme? And why was all the orignal BGM replaced with generic rock?

Might wanna think this through and research everything I just stated.

Well, personally, the one reason I can't stand English dubs is simply the pronunciation of Japanese nouns. I see it in pretty much EVERY dub ever. English voice actors seem to like to pronounce Japanese words as if they were English words, and even worse, not all of them agree on it; sometimes you'll hear a characters name pronounced multiple different ways.

Yes, that bothers me, too. Like in the Clannad dub (I keep bringing that up...), when they kept calling Nagisa "Nuh-gee-suh".

I don't' mind most (although they usually do something the ends up on my nerves but i understand because our language doesn't have the same similarities and such) but the only dubs i think suck are card captor sakura (dub version called card captors) if you have seen the original (sub) try to watch the dub if you don't believe the dub os terrible, they changed just about everything. The other is black butler, most of the accents... well they sound too forced compared to the english accents people that i've talked to have, lol a lot of them don't know it but it's awesome! Second thing about black butler is (NO OFFENCE INTENDED TO THE VOICE ACTORS WHAT SO EVER!!) ciel's voice actor was ok, but i think whomever was his voice actor could have done better. Merin's voice was very annoying. I HATE what they did with grell though. They use the worst nickname for sebastian, i mean BASSY?! Really? Sebas-chan was much better (and hilarious)

EDIT: Also i PARTIALLY dislike The naruto shippuden dubs. Sai doesn't call naruto dickless and hidan doesn't cuss what so ever, and they even changed the "hidan just needs blood to kill" (no not word for word, but blood is still there) and in the shippuden they use DNA. I know they changed all that because it's airing on disney XD but REALLY? How many little kids understand what DNA is?

The reason i like the dubbed version of for instance DBZ is because i grew up with it, it has some childhood memories.
When i first began watching anime online i wanted to rewatch the DBZ series, so i did, i didn't like the Japanese voices at all
that's the only time you'll hear me say that. it all comes down to personal preference and personal opinion, though i just rewatched some clips and i completely aggree with you on the Freeza part they really screwed that one up.

Spice and Wolf has a pretty good dub. It wasn't too painful to watch.

I wonder if this thread had been a poll how badly the English dubs would have lost.

i think the one piece dub is worse than naruto's since they changed the animation as well as the voices....

I liked the School Rumble dub, haha. It was a lot more funny than when I watched the Japanese audio at Otakon a long time ago. Won't explain a second time, but reading off subs doesn't make me laugh.

I prefer subs. Dubbing rarely turns out any good in my opinion. There`s a few american cartoons that`s been dubbed to Norwegian that works really well. Like Ice age. But things tend to work better in the language it was created in.
