I feel that Ichigo is a little too young sounding (hahah, young, yong, get it?! GET IT?!!1!!!!)

That sounded very wrong to me for some reason. Rukia sounded too old. Isn't she supposed to have a fifteen-year old body? Dunno what you mean about Ichigo sounding too young, though.. I mean, speaking as a fifteen-year-old myself, he didn't sound that far off. The accent bothered me, but that's probably because I'm an outrageously snobby Brit.

And no I didn't get it ='( XD

I agree that most English dubs are horrible. I just think that Americans just arn't as enthusiastic. I guess Japanese people are willing to do some extreme acting in front of others and people here in the USA are more reluctant.

I agree. Most of them would prolly consider it a step down from like normal TV shows, so it's awkward from the off, really.

OK OK, did anyone happen to watch Last Exile with the English dubs? It turned out awesome, better than the Japanese voices for sure.

But werd.. I HATE the Adult Swim voices. Bleach is gonna sound so lame, lol.

Neon Genesis is actually familiar to many as one anime that made it really apparent for making the dub better. I found that I enjoyed the English subs and dubs equally when it comes to Full Metal Panic and Full Metal Panic fumoffu, but I am worried about Full Metal Panic! The Second raid being licensed by funimation other than ADVfilms like it has in the other two series. I think that Steven Jap Blum, who has been casted as spike in Cowboy bebop, Kazuma in S-cry-ed, and even the elder of the Nebraskas from Trigun. He is a very versatile voice actor who i think can play almost any role other than a young character. I just haven't seen him casted as a kid before, but I think he was guilmon in Digimon season 3.

Fuzzmaster (since you post so much I will assume you will read this), where did you get that avatar? The character seems interesting, if it's part of an anime series, I want to watch it.

It's a secondary character from The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Cant really say that i've seen anything dubbed apart from 80's shows with swedish, danish and german dub. It's like the same voices in every show, movie as well as batman, superman and might mouse etc. etc.

As you can yourselves see i'm not a dub fan, the japanese put there souls into the voices for the simple reason that it has to be perfect. With the amount of anime aired in japan the slightest edge you have over the competition can make your show a success instead of a flop.

Abroad they select the top shows and just dub with people they've worked with before without putting the same kind of effort into it.

Disney has a great dubbing policy, in most movies the voices of characters does not only sound the same but they manor of speak is very similar in 30-40 different languages.

I wish companies took more consideration when dubbing anime.

GO FAN SUBBERS!!!
