Been trying to watch the first season of Ghost in the Shell with dub but it's not really done that well when compared to the subs. Bit of a shame that.

Why would the music change? That would be completely pointless?

Well ok, but that just means it's in a different language. It wouldn't change from "atmospheric" to "non-atmospheric"

for me, its all about the voices. the japanese voices are so much better than the dubbed ones. i dont mind reading the subtitles and i actually like reading them. i like listening to the japanese too. there are just some animes that are dubbed that i just cant stand and would rather not watch the anime than watch it dubbed cuz of the poor choice of voice actors. i also dont like the change in lines and such. one example is in the descendants of darkness in the third arch where tsuzuki, the main character, is getting held up because he is being talked to in english, but he cant understand cuz he only speaks japanese. but when it is dubbed, they had to change it to that he just doesnt understand what is going on. kinda ruins the scene and the effectiveness of muraki's, the arch-nemisis, entrance. additionally, hisoka sounds like a gay man instead of a teenage boy. and muraki sounds like a gay, nasaly man instead of a suave gentleman that he is referred to as because of his "cool" voice. anyway, so if you are going to see this anime, i would recommend to watch only in japanese. so much more fulfilling. (but i would say this for every anime!!)

Prefer subtitles. Can't think of a single anime where the dubbed was better than the original.

Outlaw Star had a fantastic dub for so many reasons.
I do consider myself a person who goes dub first, but Outlaw Star is indisputable.

I thought the dubbed versions for Full Metal Alchemist and Hellsing were pretty awesome.
