you do know Jesus is Middle-Eastern right? So he must have looked more like an Arab than a Caucasian. Unfortunately, the ''White Jesus'' stereotype has stuck.

Wow, I'm amazed out how quickly people jump up and attack someone for their beliefs. You can disagree, but it's rude to offend and make personal attacks. Jesus does live!

eh this is not attacking the belief, more like attacking the format in which the belief is being presented. This thread is badly made period.

Actually I think quoting the Bible is the best way to do it. Really other Christian's know better that it is not retarded to quote the Bible. It's really good to quote the Bible... then you tell people that you know what you are talking about.

Making a thread with passages from the Bible without trying to start any sort of discussion is just spam, which makes you look retarded. It might be good to quote the Bible in church or when you're having a discussion about it with fellow believers, but anywhere else it's just shoving your beliefs in people's faces.

Also, the Bible has never been proven to be 100% true, so it's only "proof" to those who believe in it.

Tell me friend in which passage is the Bible proven us false? Tell me and I will tell you if you are right or wrong. I really need and explanation for it... in other word's I gave you proof that Jesus died on the cross. Now give me proof that the Bible is not 100% accurate.

If you really want to start pointless flaming, you should make some outrageous statements rather than just quoting the Bible. Otherwise even your fellow Christians will think you're just retarded.

I can't prove that everything is false (some historical events have been recorded in it as far as I know), but anyone with common sense and little knowledge about history and human nature would know not to take everything in the Bible literally.

First of all, the Bible was originally written by a human or group of humans. I don't know if it says anywhere in the Bible who the author(s) are, but if it doesn't then how can you be sure that it wasn't written by a crazy person or group of crazy people who claimed that a god spoke to them, and they managed to be very charismatic and gain the support of the largely uneducated and impressionable masses? Can you really believe that it is truly God's words when a man put it down on paper? Can you really put all of your faith into it when that same man believed certain things about the universe and the world around us that a little kid today could disprove with what they learned in their 3rd grade science class?

Second, even if the Bible was originally pure and holy and contained all of the truth in the universe, it has since been edited many times by various people to suit their own selfish gains. The Catholic church was very corrupt a long time ago, and while I can't give an exact time period, it is known that many people during that time, including many of the priests/bishops/whatever, couldn't even read, which gave the literate elite the opportunity to edit the text to make people believe what they want them to believe. I can't give you references, but I learned this last year in AP European History (my textbook had many references, and about 15 different historians contributed to that chapter of the book alone, but I never paid any attention to them).

Third, there are so many different interpretations of the Bible, and everyone thinks theirs is right, so how do we know who has found the truth? Some people believe it gives them the right to hate and even persecute others because they are God's children, and anyone who isn't a child of God should be punished. Others use it to inspire them to live a clean, wholesome life and help as many people as they possibly can. So many lives have been lost because of the way people have interpreted that text, can it really be so pure and holy if God allows his words and teachings to be used to justify the slaughtering and mistreatment of countless innocent people?

And finally, what makes the Bible more valid than the various other religious texts written throughout history that still have a strong following today? What makes it more valid than any book or manga that has been written recently? For all we know, some god could have spoken to George Lucas and told him that a universe like the one in Star Wars really existed a long time ago, and that it was his duty to spread the word by making a movie about it.

Of course, I'm not trying to convince you that the Bible is evil and horrible and just a stupid fairytale that you shouldn't believe in, just realize that God may not have intended for you to take it literally, but rather use it as a guideline to living a good, Christian lifestyle so you can live in eternal bliss in heaven. In fact, when I was Christian I was taught that "Bible" is actually an acronym for "Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth." I don't know if that's true, but to me it seems like a more reasonable way of looking at it, especially considering how many mythological tales from other cultures were meant to provide lessons on how to be a good human being, rather than a history lesson.

Tell me friend, if you were a general would you not rush into the enemies base w/o carefully analyzing the battlefield? David couldn't beat Goliath by simply running up to the guy, he had to strategize. In other words, you just ran up to Goliath hoping God would help you deliver a falcon punch. Plz do us Christians a favor and report this thread to the mods to save your repution on cr.

Your right David used the annointment that God gave for him... to defeat Goliath. By the way this thread isn't a danger to me or to my rep... it really doesn't matter because I am speaking about what I believe... like you asked the question... about faith. I was curious by the responses.
