confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another's ability. The conventional definition has nothing to do with god. In any respect, that may be what you like to belive faith is, but it sees as though you were trying to define it by the way you worded it. No storm in my coffee though. Image

A priest once presented a simple definition that I find rather agreeable.

Knowledge is believing in something that you know exists.
Faith is believing in something that you don't know exists.

Indeed this coincides with whatever complicated paths I would take to explaining it.

Faith can be considered daring or risky. Faith is not something you can cling on to for reassurance, but cling on to because you trust it. It is walking where you cannot see, because you know the end result will be for the best.

I feel this a concept and definition both theists and atheists are able to agree upon. As a theist could say "that's why I stick with faith" and an atheist could say "that's why I don't like faith".
Indeed, this definition reflects an aspect of why I'm not faithful to any particular religion.

i kinda agree that faith is believing or trusting in something that you're kinda unsure of, like having faith in a person whom you're not fully confident of.

To me, faith means safety in strength and security in individuality. For that's what it takes for me to have faith in anyone.

I knew a girl named Faith.
She was quite little.
Thus, you can say that her parents had little Faith.
I did not trust her.
You can say that I had no faith in little Faith.

Some people hung around with her.
I do not like people with little Faith.
You can't trust them at all.

The girl's mother was named O Yee.
Some people say that O Yee of little Faith shall perish in the flames of hell.

I did not believe that the girl's mother deserved such a punishment.

Her brother Luke once said, If then God so clothe the grass, which is today is in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Which has nothing to do with her mom.

I feel that faith is synonymous with hope. It's believing that things will turn out for the better. Of course, everyone has to work hard to MAKE things turn out for the better. Faith alone will accomplish nothing.
