At a time when the gulf between religion and science is growing ever greater, an artist has erected a temple for scientific worship.

But...
But, could science replace religion?

Jonathon Keats, designer of the petri dish God, built The Atheon to get people thinking about what a scientific religion (or religious science?) would look and feel like.

Keats' conception of that idea took shape as a two-story building complete with stained-glass windows patterned after cosmic microwave background radiation and a liturgy based on the sounds of the Big Bang. The Atheon opened Sept. 27 at the Judah L. Magnes Museum in Berkeley, California.

Okay.. What? Now this? Scientology, explain. -_-;
Worshiping Science is most likely worshiping a tool; A Hammer.
It's kinda disappointing; Making a religion of Science then a place to worship it? Hah.

I dont think the problem is people disagreeing with science, its just that they are trying to make it a religion.

what i'm confused about is how they plan to go about making it a religion. science is solely made of fact. religion mostly has a mix of fact but also a lot of myths. you have to believe in a greater power in religions but in science there is nothing greater at work..*cunfuzzled*

But making Science a religion would most likely make everything a pint part of it. Everything around us is about Science; Partly Physics, Chemistry, Biology, etc crap.
It only shows that it's a bad idea to do so. Even if it's full of facts and theories.

Religion asks for faith, science encourages questioning of existing theories and independant thought. They are completely opposite.

eh, so basically they're taking something that isn't like any religion and making it one. and if Scientology is a bunch of un proven stuff then why would they give it such a misleading name..

well science has done better for humanity than religion has anyways

plus science dont really have to do with your values of good or right they really have nothing o do with each other apart from their view on how stuff came to be
