^I personally don't find hot oil treatments to be as good as people make them out to be.
It's a pain to shampoo out the oil, the bath tub/shower floor gets kinda greasy-feeling,
and my hair doesn't feel any softer, or look any shinier.

Then again, maybe I just have weird hair. It seems to work for so many people.

im not sure if layering it wuld be best
cuz i dont wna make stupid mistakes =-=

@ Yixian: I agree with Mantou. I kinda hate greasy hair too actually. Just irritates me all the more. Usually I just condition it often and occasionally go for steam treatment. (You know, with hair mask treatment cream and all?)

@ Sukaretsu: You've got a few options actually. You either trim your fringe to be shorter, or you can get it cut in a style whereby it doesn't touch your eyes that much (e.g. M shape fringe perhaps?)
I don't really recommend you to go layer it since you've got wavy hair already. Try to keep your fringe a little thicker, because it'll probably start curling up or get even more wavy. If you don't want your hair to be wavy, I suggest you should just keep it thick and shorten it.

Here are examples of an M shaped fringe I mentioned earlier in this reply:

This is roughly the shape you'll wanna get if you wanna avoid it poking into your eyes.
If you don't want to shorten it though, I suggest you not pull your fringe straight down and leave a parting for your hair, AND leave it long. When it gets longer, it'll stop bothering your eye.

I personally do not recommend people to have extremely long fringes though. Spoils the vision. I'm serious.

sukaretsu: Xenophobe's pretty much covered most of it.
But I'd like to make one little correction...
SLIGHTLY layering wavy hair will help the hair conform to it's natural texture and shape.
If you don't layer it, a lot of the weight and curl will be concentrated at the ends,
making it very poofy and shapeless.

Now by layering, I do not mean thinning out,
because most often, that will just turn your hair frizz-paradise.
You want to have it layered so that there is
some length difference and light texturising throughout your hair.
(Sorry it's vague, but its kind of difficult to explain without visual aids)

I would recommend getting it layered at a non-Asian salon,
since the stylists there are more likely to have more experience
in working with naturally wavy/curly hair.
A natural wave is very different from a permed wave,
which is what Asian salons tend to work with.

Of course, in the end, it all comes down to the skill of the stylist.

No, it isn't really necessary,
depending on your hair type and the style
and effect you want to achieve.
Straightening makes the hair stiffer, which
makes it easier to stand and prevents the hair from
flopping down during the day.
It gives you a sleeker, more polished,
and sometimes even an edgier look.

Don't say that about yourself,
have more self confidence!
I think you have great hair
You're not ugly either,
anyone who thinks so is probably jealous
